Off-Site Hotels

New Orleans, LA, Epic Universe Vacation Planning Common Questions
What length of time should you spend in Epic Universe?
The ideal length of time depends on what your goals are for the trip. If you only want to see your top attractions, you can probably do so in 1 day. To visit everything, you'll want at least 2 days in the park.
If you are spending a full week (or longer) in Orlando, that gives you time to explore Epic Universe completely and still check out some other local attractions.
When is the best time to visit Epic Universe?
Different people will have different "best" times to visit Epic Universe. For seasons, you'll want to consider high volume areas, events, and available promotions.
Lower-demand periods often have fewer crowds and better deals, but holidays can draw people back in. On the other hand, higher-demand seasons may have higher prices, but also more special events and (typically) easier scheduling.
You should also think about what day(s) of the week you want to visit. Sundays are generally the least crowded days, while Mondays tend to have the longest wait times – keep in mind, though, that these are variable and can be subject to the particulars of any given day.
Can I bring food into Epic Universe?
Universal's official food policy generally does not allow you to bring in outside food or drinks, especially alcohol. That said, there are limited circumstances where you can: Park policy allows you to bring in up to 2 liters of bottled water, and food in limited circumstances (such as to accommodate dietary restrictions).
If you are allowed to bring in food, you'll face restrictions on the size of your cooler as well (up to the size of 8.5"x6"x6" is allowed). You can bring an empty, refillable water bottle, though.
Is there free water available?
Yes! Universal Orlando ensures water bottle refilling stations are widely available in its parks, and Epic Universe is no exception.
But even if you don't have a water bottle, you don't have to be dehydrated. The dining areas around the park will give you free water cups.
Can I bring a bag to Epic Universe?
You can bring a bag or backpack to Epic Universe. Don't forget that it will have to go through a security inspection prior to you entering the park.
The main thing to keep in mind is what size backpack to bring – you'll likely have to store it in a short-term locker for some of the rides, so something smaller is generally better. These lockers use facial recognition technology to ensure each guest has access to their items.
Is Epic Universe cash-free?
Epic Universe is not a cash-free park. Universal has started experimenting with a cashless park in Volcano Bay, but this has yet to apply to Epic Universe.
The key thing to keep in mind is that ordering with cash may result in longer waits than ordering through the app, at least for food. If you use the app, you can enter your order at any time and just pick it up when it's ready.
When should you get to the park?
Ideally, you should arrive at Epic Universe at least half an hour before opening. Generally, the park will open at 10:00 in the morning, while letting people with Early Park Admission in an hour early (keep in mind that park hours are variable).
Be sure to include extra time for transit and security.
As soon as people get in, they tend to go to the most popular rides. You can either try to beat the crowd, or visit somewhere else while the lines are shorter and loop back later.
