You have a few different options for where to stay when visiting Epic Universe: On-site hotels, off-site hotels, and short-term vacation rentals. Each has its own pros and cons, which we'll discuss below:
On-Site Hotels
Description: On-site hotels like the Helios Grand, Stella Nova, and Terra Luna are all owned and operated by Universal and are located on-property at the resort.
Pros: The travel time is next to zero, especially if you stay at the Helios Grand. Your stay might also come with Express Passes.
Cons: Without deals, these are likely some of the more expensive places to stay.
Off-Site Hotels
Description: If you are okay staying off-site, there are plenty of other options in Orlando.
Pros: Off-site hotels are often more affordable and give you easier access to the general Orlando area.
Cons: It will take additional logistics to travel to the theme park, and you'll be arriving later than the people who stayed on-site
Short-Term Vacation Rentals
Description: Direct rentals from owner, rather than a larger hotel or chain.
Pros: This is often the most spacious and personal option of where to stay.
Cons: There isn't a guarantee of quality, and you will be more responsible for maintaining the space.

How long should an Epic Universe vacation be?
If you want to fully explore Epic Universe, you should plan to spend at least 2 days in the park. If you're fine just visiting the highlights, you can explore it in 1 day.
If you are spending a full week (or longer) in Orlando, that gives you time to explore Epic Universe completely and still check out some other local attractions.
How do I determine the right time for my Epic Universe vacation?
When you visit Epic Universe should reflect what you value most in your vacation. Regarding time of year, you'll want to think about crowds, special events, and available promotions.
Less popular times of year generally offer better promotions, and shorter wait times. However, if you care about special events and/or your schedule restricts it, higher-demand seasons might be your only option.
If you have the flexibility, you should also decide which day of the week best fits your needs. As a rule of thumb, Sundays are often the least crowded while Mondays are the most crowded – this is highly variable, though, and can be subject to the particulars of any given day.
What is the food policy at Epic Universe?
External food and drinks are not generally permitted under Universal's official food policy. But there are a few instances where food and/or drink is permitted: Park policy allows you to bring in up to 2 liters of bottled water, and food in limited circumstances (such as to accommodate dietary restrictions).
If you are allowed to bring in food, you'll face restrictions on the size of your cooler as well (up to the size of 8.5"x6"x6" is allowed). You can bring an empty, refillable water bottle, though.
Is there free water available?
Yes! Epic Universe makes it easy to stay hydrated during your time in the park. If you remember your water bottle, there are several water refill stations scattered throughout the park.
Water is also available for free if you don't have a water bottle – just ask at any of the restaurants.
Can I bring a bag to Epic Universe?
Bags and backpacks are allowed within Epic Universe. Don't forget that it will have to go through a security inspection prior to you entering the park.
The main thing to keep in mind is what size backpack to bring – you'll likely have to store it in a short-term locker for some of the rides, so something smaller is generally better. These lockers use photo validation technology as a locking mechanism.
Is Epic Universe cash-free?
Epic Universe is not a cash-free park. The only park that is currently cashless at Universal Orlando is Volcano Bay.
The key thing to keep in mind is that ordering with cash may result in longer waits than ordering through the app, at least for food. If you use the app, you can enter your order at any time and just pick it up when it's ready.
How early should you arrive at Epic Universe?
Ideally, you should arrive at Epic Universe at least half an hour before opening. The park formally opens around 10:00 AM, with Early Park Admission an hour beforehand (this can vary depending on events and projected attendance).
Be sure to include extra time for transit and security.
As soon as people get in, they tend to go to the most popular rides. You can either try to beat the crowd, or visit somewhere else while the lines are shorter and loop back later.
