- Look for lockers. These often have a daily rate and are excellent for storing backpacks.

Lodging Options When Visiting Epic Universe
When you travel to Epic Universe, you'll probably have to make a choice on where to stay, between three options: On-site hotels, off-site hotels, and short-term vacation rentals. It's important to carefully consider your priorities and what will do the best job of giving you the experience you want:
On-Site Hotels
Description: On-site hotels like the Helios Grand, Stella Nova, and Terra Luna are all owned and operated by Universal and are located on-property at the resort.
Pros: Because they are on-site, these options have the lowest travel time, and allow for early park admission. You may also get a deal for Express Passes.
Cons: These tend to be more expensive options, and most rooms aren't very large.
Off-Site Hotels
Description: If you are okay staying off-site, there are plenty of other options in Orlando.
Pros: If Epic Universe is only one part of your trip, an off-site hotel makes it easier to explore the rest of Orlando.
Cons: It will take additional logistics to travel to the theme park, and you'll be arriving later than the people who stayed on-site
Short-Term Vacation Rentals
Description: Temporary rentals from a property owner.
Pros: You can enjoy additional privacy, possibly get access to a kitchen, and often get the largest amount of space.
Cons: These can be inconsistent, and you will be more responsible for maintaining the space.
Atlanta, GA, Epic Universe Vacation Planning FAQs
What length of time should you spend in Epic Universe?
If you want to fully explore Epic Universe, you should plan to spend at least 2 days in the park. If you're fine just visiting the highlights, you can explore it in 1 day.
Another popular option is to extend your trip for a full Universal Orlando vacation. Spending 5-6 days gives you enough time to explore all of the parks, and possibly some of the other parts of Orlando.
When is the best time to visit Epic Universe?
When you visit Epic Universe should reflect what you value most in your vacation. For seasons, you'll want to consider crowds, events, and deals.
If your top priority is avoiding the crowds, look for low-demand time periods with better discounts. On the other hand, higher-demand seasons may have higher prices, but also more special events and (typically) easier scheduling.
You should also think about what day(s) of the week you want to visit. As a rule of thumb, Sundays are often the least crowded while Mondays are the most crowded – this can be consistent, though, and can be subject to weather and special events.
What is the food policy at Epic Universe?
External food and drinks are not generally permitted under Universal's official food policy. There are a small number of exceptions, though: Park policy allows you to bring in up to 2 liters of bottled water, as well as food required for medical reasons, special dietary needs, and/or baby food.
If you are allowed to bring in food, you'll face restrictions on the size of your cooler as well (up to the size of 8.5"x6"x6" is allowed). Whether or not you're bringing in a cooler, it is a good idea to bring in a refillable water bottle.
Can you get free water in the park?
Yes! Universal Orlando ensures water bottle refilling stations are widely available in its parks, and Epic Universe is no exception.
If you don't have a water bottle, most of the park's dining locations will also have free water cups available.
are bags allowed inside of Epic Universe?
It's allowed (and even a good idea) to bring a bag or a backpack on your trip to Epic Universe. Don't forget that it will have to go through a security inspection prior to you entering the park.
The main thing to keep in mind is what size backpack to bring – you'll likely have to store it in a short-term locker for some of the rides, so something smaller is generally better. These lockers use photo validation technology to provide a seamless locker experience.
Is Epic Universe cash-free?
Epic Universe is not a cash-free park. While Universal's Volcano Bay went cashless in February of 2026, this has not yet extended to other parks at the resort.
Some people still prefer to avoid cash in Epic Universe, particularly for food. The app allows you to order ahead of time and skip the line.
When should you get to the park?
To avoid the lines as much as possible, try to be at the gates 30 minutes early. Generally, the park will open at 10:00 in the morning, while letting people with Early Park Admission in an hour early (keep in mind that park hours are variable).
Be sure to include extra time for transit and security.
Once the park opens, guests tend to rush the most popular rides like Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry. There are two general strategies parkgoers have: try to beat the crowd by rushing to your favorite ride, or visit less popular attractions and return to the others when the line is shorter.
