Cons: These can be inconsistent, and you likely won't receive the same level of service as you would at a hotel.
Albuquerque, NM, Epic Universe Vacation Planning FAQs
How long does it take to fully explore Epic Universe?
The ideal length of time depends on what your goals are for the trip. If you only want to see your top attractions, you can probably do so in 1 day. To visit everything, you'll want at least 2 days in the park.
The other thing to consider is if you want to do anything besides visit Epic Universe as a part of your trip. You can spend more time in the other parks, and/or exploring the Orlando area.
What time of year should I visit Epic Universe?
There isn't one "best" time to visit Epic Universe, as it depends on your priorities. For seasons, you'll want to think about high volume areas, special events, and deals.
If your top priority is avoiding the crowds, look for low-demand time periods with better discounts. However, if you care about special events and/or your schedule restricts it, higher-demand seasons might be your only option.
You should also think about what day(s) of the week you want to visit. Sundays are generally the least crowded days, while Mondays tend to have the longest wait times – keep in mind, though, that these are variable and can be subject to weather and special events.
Can I bring food into Epic Universe?
External food and drinks are not generally permitted under Universal's official food policy. But there are a few instances where food and/or drink is permitted: Park policy allows you to bring in up to 2 liters of bottled water, and food in limited circumstances (such as to accommodate dietary restrictions).
If you are allowed to bring in food, you'll face restrictions on the size of your cooler as well (up to the size of 8.5"x6"x6" is allowed). Regardless of your food situation, you are allowed to bring in a refillable water bottle.
Can you get free water in the park?
Yes! There are a variety of water bottle refilling stations available within Epic Universe, and they are free to use.
Water is also available for free if you don't have a water bottle – just ask at any of the restaurants.
are bags allowed inside of Epic Universe?
Bags and backpacks are allowed within Epic Universe. Just keep in mind that it will need to go through security.
One thing to consider is how big of a pack to bring with you. Because several of the rides don't allow packs, you'll want something that you can store in a locker if necessary. These lockers use photo validation technology as a locking mechanism.
Is Epic Universe cash-free?
Epic Universe is not a cash-free park. While Universal's Volcano Bay went cashless in February of 2026, this has not yet extended to other parks at the resort.
Some people still prefer to avoid cash in Epic Universe, particularly for food. The app allows you to order ahead of time and skip the line.
How early should you arrive at Epic Universe?
Ideally, you should arrive at Epic Universe at least half an hour before opening. Most days, that means arriving at 9:30 AM, or 8:30 AM if you have early admission (this can vary depending on events and projected attendance).
Be sure to include extra time for transit and security.
As soon as people get in, they tend to go to the most popular rides. There are two general strategies parkgoers have: try to beat the crowd by rushing to your favorite ride, or visit less popular attractions and return to the others when the line is shorter.
