As I am assisting families with planning their vacations, I am often asked for recommendations for activities during a day when they will not be visiting the parks or leaving the parks early. One of my most frequent suggestions is a visit to Disney Springs! Disney Springs is a bit of a lesser-known gem at the Walt Disney World Resort. If you visited Disney World in the past, you may also know it by its previous name- Downtown Disney. Here you will find a plethora of entertainment, dining, and shopping options for the whole family. In July, my family had the opportunity to take part in Epcot After Hours event! While Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios had offered such events in the past, and holiday parties after hours events are common, Epcot’s After Hours event is one we will definitely do again! You can read more about different After Hours events in our previous BLOG Epcot After Hours dates seemingly filled the gaps between festivals - Flower and Garden had ended, and Food and Wine had not yet started. Pricing for this event is similar to a party night, and discounts for DVC and AP holders were available - these tickets must be purchased separately from your package and are non-refundable/non-transferable once purchased. As Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa enters its 35th year, they are wrapping up a huge refurbishment of all their guest rooms. Sago Cay is the most recently completed building and happens to be the building we stayed in. The Grand Floridian is a deluxe resort and sits along the Monorail in the Magic Kingdom area of Disney World. The Grand Floridian has always been known for its Victorian charm and amazing restaurants. Citrico’s reopened in 2020 with an updated look inspired by Mary Poppins Returns. Those subtle whimsical touches of cherry blossoms and butterflies have now been carried over to the guest rooms. The new rooms are bright and beautiful with gold, pinks, blues, and greens.
