I am a firm believer that every family should consider starting their Disney Vacation story with a trip to Walt Disney’s Original Park, Disneyland, built over 70 years ago on orange groves that Walt bought in Anaheim, California. Dinosaurs
YES, Dinosaurs can be seen on your Disneyland train ride make sure to get on at the front of the park for easiest boarding and ride all the way around to take in the whole park and get a blast from the past.

Churros!
Disneyland has the best churros, hot, crispy, delicious and worth the trip to Disneyland on their own!

Main Street Vehicles
Take a step back in time and a nice ride down Main Street USA to the front of Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland in a Horseless Carriage, a Horsedrawn Carriage, a vintage Fire Engine or a double decker Omnibus. Sometimes you will even be able to catch a ride with one of your favorite characters!

Walt Disney Animatronic
On Main Street USA in the Opera House you can watch a new dramatic theater presentation of Walt Disney : A Magical Life where the Disney Imagineers have made the first Walt Disney Animatronic. Hear about his life and the making of the Disney company in his own words, it so realistic, it’s like he is there!

Sleeping Beauty Castle Walkthrough
You can walk through Sleeping Beauty’s castle and relive her story through pages of the story book and scenes depicted throughout the castle.

Original Disney Rides
Disneyland has original Disney rides that were created by Walt Disney himself and the amazing Disney Imagineers! Even if you have visited Walt Disney World and ridden some of the same rides there are the original versions at Disneyland and they are all worth a ride!! Jungle Cruise, Peter Pan’s Flight, Small World, and Pirates of the Caribbean to name a few. Also, if you come in the holiday season you can ride the original Haunted Mansion with a Nightmare Before Christmas Holiday Overlay.

Park Hopping
Park hopping is SO EASY between Disneyland and Disney California Adventure, they are directly across from each other so there is only a quick walk between the two front gates, and you are in the other park.

Smaller Park Footprint
Now I know this might not sound good at first but just because the parks at Disneyland are small doesn’t mean that they are not packed with rides, shows, dining, and shopping. This saves your feet from being too sore and helps you get to the attractions you want faster.

On Property AND Good Neighbor Hotels
Disneyland has three on property hotels, all three are near Disneyland, Disney California Adventure AND Downtown Disney. The nice thing is that since there are only three on property hotels Disney partners with Good Neighbor hotels that are technically off property but that are held to high standards to have the Good Neighbor label and some of these hotels are even closer to the parks and Downtown Disney. You can find the type of hotel you are looking for in a budget that works for you and close enough to walk back mid-day for a nap. To me that’s a win/win!

Amazing Weather
If you are looking for perfect weather for your vacation you will be happy with what you find in Anaheim, California! Anaheim’s hottest month is August with an average high of 85 degrees and typically LOW humidity. The summer temperatures in Anaheim are dream compared to the majority of the USA.
