Did you know there is a free scavenger hunt that you can complete using the help of the Disney Skyliner? At Me and The Mouse Travel, we call this a "Magical Moment" activity - an extra activity that you can add to your itinerary and create more Disney memories with your family. Download Your Own Here: DisneySkyliner_CreateYourOwnCabin The Skyliner is one of Disney World’s best transportation systems and has quickly become a favorite "attraction" outside of the theme parks. Since late 2019, the Disney Skyliner has become one of the best ways to travel around the Walt Disney World Resort. While you have to wait for other transportation options like the monorail and bus, the Disney Skyliner has a continuous loading process, making it an easy and quick form of transportation to transfer to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios, as well as other select resorts. As you take to the sky […]

There’s so much to see and do at Magic Kingdom but how can you fit it all into a single day? If you can’t extend your trip to include multiple days at Magic Kingdom, knowing the little tricks to maximize what you can experience with minimal wait is key to checking off your must-do list. For many families, Disney’s Festival of Fantasy Parade is a top priority attraction that they want to experience. After all, where else can you see all of your favorite characters in one place within a 12-minute attraction? The Festival of Fantasy parade starts in Frontierland and makes its way towards Liberty Square before turning and going past Cinderella’s Castle and down Main Street USA. There are many ideas as to where the best spot for watching the parade really is. For many years, my family would camp out in Liberty Square outside the Diamond Horseshoe, […]

One of the common questions people ask when their dining booking window approaches is where they can find the best steak. Disney parks, resorts, and Disney Springs have a few choices, but the one my family has enjoyed for years is Le Cellier in the Canadian Pavilion in EPCOT. The interior is meant to resemble a wine cellar, which gives you a cozy and quaint environment to enjoy your meal. Each section of the restaurant represents a different province in Canada. Once you are seated in the restaurant, you are greeted by your waitstaff who are always eager to share the highlights of their Canadian hometowns. Your meal starts off with bread service that includes pretzel bread and sourdough multi-grai bread served with maple syrup whipped butter. For an appetizer, we ordered the Signature Poutine, which consisted of Fresh-cut French Fries, Canadian Cheddar Cheese Curds, Truffle, Red Wine Reduction. We […]

EPCOT’s newest attraction is a self-guided walk thru experience where water comes to life at the wave of a hand. You can immerse yourself in the world of Moana while learning all about the life cycle of water and how it connects us. You will find Journey of Water in EPCOT’s World Nature neighborhood along with The Land and The Seas pavilions. As you enter the attraction, you are greeted with your first trail marker. Each of these trail markers represents a part of the life cycle of water and provides some education and then a fun way to play with the water. From making music to making waves. Keep an eye out for familiar shapes in the rocks! About half way through the attraction there are restrooms and a spot to sit. Be prepared to get at least a bit wet if you want to really have fun in […]

Looking for a secret gem of a dining location located in the heart of Walt Disney World? Look no further than Steakhouse 71, located at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, just outside the Magic Kingdom. Inspired by Walt Disney and named for the year of the opening of Walt Disney World, you can find historic pictures amid mid-century design and enjoy a portfolio of the Disney family wines as you sit down to enjoy breakfast, lunch, or dinner. At Breakfast time is where you can enjoy scrumptious options such as Walt’s Prime Rib Hash, Floridian Eggs Benedict, or the Avocado Toast while sipping on a Mimosa, while the kids enjoy Mickey-shaped Waffles (a must on any Disney vacation!) with a Sunshine Punch before heading to the parks for a day of play. With the restaurant located on the first floor, simply head out the doors and you’ll find yourself on the pathway […]

As I am assisting families with planning their vacations, I am often asked for recommendations for activities during a day when they will not be visiting the parks or leaving the parks early. One of my most frequent suggestions is a visit to Disney Springs! Disney Springs is a bit of a lesser-known gem at the Walt Disney World Resort. If you visited Disney World in the past, you may also know it by its previous name- Downtown Disney. Here you will find a plethora of entertainment, dining, and shopping options for the whole family. Disney Spring is in the southeastern corner of the Walt Disney World Resort property, and just across the lagoon from Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort. You can arrive via bus from any of the on-site Disney resort hotels or if you’re staying at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort, it’s a simple walk to the eastern entrance. If […]

In July, my family had the opportunity to take part in Epcot After Hours event! While Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios had offered such events in the past, and holiday parties after hours events are common, Epcot’s After Hours event is one we will definitely do again! You can read more about different After Hours events in our previous BLOG Epcot After Hours dates seemingly filled the gaps between festivals - Flower and Garden had ended, and Food and Wine had not yet started. Pricing for this event is similar to a party night, and discounts for DVC and AP holders were available - these tickets must be purchased separately from your package and are non-refundable/non-transferable once purchased. Every major attraction is included, and free snacks too! Crowds were extremely low for this event, so lines during the actual event time were very quick! Like all after hours events, guests […]

With summer upon us, the heat and humidity of Florida can send even the most southern of families screaming for a cool relief. We know you’ve been eagerly anticipating your Disney World vacation for months and we don’t want you to miss out on any of the fun that Disney has to offer because of the heat. Here are some tips to help you survive the hottest and most humid of Disney days: 1. Take advantage of Disney’s Extra Park Time. By staying on property at Disney, you qualify to enter Disney’s parks early every day and select resorts have additional extended evening hours for their guests on various nights. This extra park time coincides with the coolest of times to visit the parks not to mention the least busy times. Not a morning or a late person? Go back to your hotel during the hottest part of the day […]

A day at the beach usually doesn’t involve a blizzard unless you are at Disney’s Blizzard Beach water park! If you are looking for a fun way to keep cool in the hot Florida sun, add this to your itinerary! Once you enter the park, you will be immersed in a winter wonderland that has melted to provide endless fun for the whole family! As you begin to plan your visit, you may view the water park map to help plan your day! Attractions Enjoy white sandy beaches and lounge chairs located throughout the park. The Cross Country Creek (aka lazy river) surrounds the park with many entry/exit areas. Melt away bay offers gentle waves and is found in the center of the park. Guests less than 48 inches can enjoy Tike’s Peak. Little ones can enjoy a Frozen-themed play area with waterslides and fun features. Are you a thrill […]
