  • How To Manage Waiting in Line with Little Ones

1/22/2021 • Tips, Walt Disney World • You have finally managed to save enough for this magical vacation. You have put months of work into planning every detail so things are perfect! You can’t wait to see the smiles and hear the laughter of your kids but that all could change if you don’t plan for the waits. It is just a given, if you are going to Disney, you are going to wait in lines at some point during your trip. A little extra planning beforehand can save you a major meltdown while on your magical trip. Here are some helpful hints that will hopefully make waiting in line more tolerable: Start preparing your kids months before you leave. When you are waiting in line to see a movie or buy a toy, explain that this is what it will be like at Disney. But also, explain the reward at the end of the wait makes […]

  • Fun Ways to Count Down to your Disney Vacation

1/19/2021 • Cruises, Disneyland, Tips, Walt Disney World • You booked your Disney vacation over six months ago. The anticipation is unbearable! Here are some fun ways to help your kids (and you) count down to the magical day!   1. Make a paper chain. Remember counting down to Christmas using those? Use Mickey colors or favorite princess colors. 2. Watch Disney movies. One week before the trip, stack up seven movies, and watch one each night. This will help the kids countdown the days and get reacquainted with the characters. 3. Mickey Dry erase board. Print off a Mickey-themed picture and place it in a cheap frame with glass. Use a dry eraser marker to count the days down. 4. Paper bag surprise. A week before your trip, fill a paper bag with a Disney goody such as stickers, autograph books, penny bags for the penny-press, spending money, etc. Staple each bag and number the bag. Let the […]

  • The “Perfect” Age for Disney

1/15/2021 • Tips, Walt Disney World • I grew up going to Disney World. My parents took me, my brother, and two sisters multiples times while we were young. We went at different times and when we were of different ages. The first time my brother (the youngest of the four of us) made the trip was when he was 4 years old. During that visit, I was 12 and it never crossed my mind if Jared was old enough to go or could have gone when he was younger. Fast forward a bunch of years. Just 10 weeks after I gave birth to my second child, my husband had a work trip taking him to Florida so the kids and I tagged along and we took them to Disney.  Some of my friends and family said my baby boy was too young while others said no you are fine. That is a question that so many […]

  • Catch a Big Wave at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon

10/10/2019 • Walt Disney World • For the last 25 years, Disney guests have been splashing around at one of the greatest overlooked experiences on Disney property - Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon!  Disney is known for its great theming and Typhoon Lagoon does not disappoint. The details show evidence of the island paradise once wiped out by a typhoon; most notably, Miss Tilley’s shipwrecked shrimp boat on the top of Mount Meyday which erupts into a geyser every 30 minutes. Typhoon Lagoon is home to a wide range of “mild to wild” water attractions, and is a great place to cool off during the hottest Disney summer months. At the center of the park is the surf pool, which is the largest man-made wave pool in North America.  The huge waves of the surf pool is one of the biggest draws to Typhoon Lagoon. Want to learn how to surf like a pro? Guests can before park […]

Character dining is very popular and can be booked up to 180 days in advance of your arrival. As a Me and The Mouse client, your Travel Specialist is happy to make all your dining reservations for you. (Please note that characters are subject to change without notice). Owned by the world-renowned entertainer Gloria Estefan and her husband, Emilio, this award-winning restaurant offers a fun, Old Havana style vibe plus authentic Cuban food, music, dancing, and atmosphere. There is a lot of fun appetizers to pick from like the ham croquettes, savory empanadas, and unique stuffed plantain cups. • Magic Shots: What Are They and Where Can You Find Them?

8/3/2017 • Walt Disney World • Have you ever walked into one of the parks at Walt Disney World and wonder who those people were wearing the same outfit taking everyone’s picture?  They are actually photographers that are part of Disney’s PhotoPass.  They will take your pictures at some of the most memorable places and in front of some of the iconic landmarks of Walt Disney World.  Once they take your picture, they will scan your MagicBand or park ticket to automatically link it to your My Disney Experience account.  From there you can browse through all of the pictures that were taken and decide if you’d like to purchase any to download. Instead of paying for individual photos, your best option is to include Disney’s Memory Maker with your vacation package.  The Memory Maker photo package lets you download all of the pictures that were taken by Disney’s PhotoPass photographers for one up front cost. • Bon Voyage Breakfast- Trattoria al Forno- Disney’s Boardwalk Inn

8/1/2017 • Reviews, Walt Disney World • A relatively new experience, the Bon Voyage Breakfast at Trattoria al Forno is a lovely alternative for  character meals.  Meet two of the most adventurous princesses out there – Ariel and Rapunzel! Accompanied by Prince Eric and Flynn Ryder {Eugene for those that know him well}, no less!  Introduced by royal decree – each couple comes to visit tables and bring adventure to every family!  Sometimes, Ariel may ask you to swim with her like her favorite fishy friends in a conga line! This restaurant boasts a charming, dark-wood, tile-floor, open kitchen concept everyone is sure to love. The dining room is more intimate, and ordering off menu versus a buffet is a wonderful change of pace!  Every menu item is inspired by The Little Mermaid or Tangled.   Before you start your adventure, each table has a “Bon Voyage Adventure Journal” to fill out. In it, your family will […]
