Nothing is more exciting than going on a Disney Cruise. The best thing about a Disney Cruise in my opinion is Castaway Cay – Disney’s Private Island! Most Disney cruises to the Bahamas and Caribbean include one and sometimes two stops to this amazing destination. This location has many activities to be enjoyed for the young to the young at heart. My must-do during the day at Castaway Cay is to snorkel in the crystal-clear waters. Castaway Cay has a 22-acre snorkeling lagoon just off the family beach area. The snorkeling path is filled with all kinds of sunken treasures […]

I am not a runner…at all…but that didn’t stop me from joining friends in my first runDisney marathon weekend! Whether you are up every morning for that morning run, or if you simply want to experience a runDisney event, here are several reasons to love runDisney races! The Challenge! Hopefully, all races are a challenge no matter your level of experience. For this girl, I’ll admit I didn’t train nearly enough knowing what I do now. Disney recommends a pace time of 15 minutes or under per mile whether you run or walk {or a combination of both}. “Balloon Ladies” […]

You booked your Disney vacation over six months ago. The anticipation is unbearable! Here are some fun ways to help your kids (and you) count down to the magical day! 1. Make a paper chain. Remember counting down to Christmas using those? Use Mickey colors or favorite princess colors. 2. Watch Disney movies. One week before the trip, stack up seven movies, and watch one each night. This will help the kids countdown the days and get reacquainted with the characters. 3. Mickey Dry erase board. Print off a Mickey-themed picture and place it in a cheap frame with […]

Virgin Voyages is new to the Cruise Line scene - and will be one of the best! With their maiden voyage on the Scarlet Lady in 2021, there’s so much to explore on this adult-only vacation at sea! The Scarlet Lady will set sail for voyages within the Caribbean and Mexico - with a home port of Miami, FL. Later in 2021. The Valiant Lady will take its maiden voyage, venturing through the Mediterranean and on TransAtlantic voyages. With the state of the world, you might be wondering what sets this cruise line apart from others in terms of health […]

If you are traveling on a Royal Caribbean cruise, it’s important to know your options regarding extra purchases and packages. The most common question I get from clients is about beverages and beverage packages. Here is what you need to know: What’s included: There are a few select options available to you at no charge. Tap water, coffee, iced tea, milk, lemonade, flavored water, juice, and hot chocolate are available to all guests free of charge. If you want a little more variety, you may want to add a beverage package to suit the needs of your family. What are […]

When embarking on a Disney Cruise, indulgence is what comes to mind. While each of the ships has unique dining rooms that are part of the nightly dinner rotation, every ship also has an adult-only dining option, Palo. Palo is known for its Northern Italian inspiration with a modern twist. They offer reservations for dinner and on select days, a brunch option. I have been following the Ketogenic way of eating for almost 2 years and my experience at Palo brunch was extraordinary. Brunch and dinner are subject to an additional fee of $40/person, plus gratuity. The following dress code […]

Think a Disney Cruise is just for families traveling with kids? Think again! Your Me and The Mouse Team recently took a team trip aboard the Disney Dream and it’s not just for kids anymore! Let me start this by saying, I am not a cruise person and therefore, I haven’t been on many in the past few years. My main reasons for not liking cruises include being afraid that the boat is going to leave me at the port since I am, admittedly, not the timeliest individual (my poor husband), the crowds of people on board, and the presumably […]

When you are considering going on a Disney Cruise, one of the inclusions is all of the amazing food. There are endless options throughout the ship not to mention 24-hour room service that is included with your cruise. Although there can be a lot of temptation, it was not difficult to maintain my Ketogenic way of eating. As I mentioned in my previous blog post, I was able to experience a cruise 2 months in a row. On one of those months, I waited until our first night of dining to discuss my needs with our server. On the second […]

Who said a Disney Cruise was only for kids?? Surely, not your travel specialist at Me and The Mouse Travel! A Disney Cruise is fun for all ages and the adult entertainment on any Disney Cruise is exciting, entertaining, and just what you need to unwind at night! So, send the kiddos to the Oceaneer’s Club for the evening then over to the Nightclub and Lounge district on your ship after 9 pm. This is a chance to experience adult-themed entertainment such as game shows, trivia, karaoke, and so much more! Disney knows that adults expect nightlife and they do […]

Earlier this year, I changed my way of eating and began to follow the ketogenic way of eating. I have successfully navigated both Walt Disney World (October 2018 blog ) and Disney Cruise Line. I shared my experiences at Walt Disney World in my last blog post. I recently had the opportunity to enjoy the Disney Cruise Line on two different cruises, both on the Disney Dream. On the first cruise, I did not add my dietary needs prior to being on board. I discussed my specific needs the first night of the cruise. Our server was incredibly accommodating and […]
