  • The Edison @ The Town Center, Walt Disney World

3/19/2024 • Reviews, Walt Disney World • Innovation and change are a constant throughout Walt Disney World.  The Edison, recently opened at Disney Springs is the bee’s knees!  It is surrounded by 3 others recently opened venues as well.  Each with their own unique offerings, but the focus of this review is the largest of the group! A larger-than-life clock tower greeted us as we entered the dining area. There was so much to take in as we were seated.  Even the uniforms of the cast members were reminiscent of a 1920’s Speakeasy!  We were greeted quickly once we sat down, and our server pointed out interesting areas throughout the venue to enjoy.  There were tables throughout the upper and lower area of the restaurant.  She quickly pointed out that in the evenings, the lower area tables are removed, and that area is used for dancing.  Although families are welcome for lunch and early evening to dine, […]

  • Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: Breakout! The Disneyland Resort – Disney’s California Adventure – Anaheim, California

1/15/2018 • Disneyland, Reviews • Continuing the success of the Marvel films (and my personal favorite), Guardians of the Galaxy  - Mission: Breakout! is a fantastic thrill ride that has been re-imagined in the former Twilight Zone Tower of Terror attraction. The Guardians of the Galaxy have been kidnapped and it’s up to you to save them! Enter the fortress of Taneleer Tivan (otherwise known as the Collector) where he is currently exhibiting some of his finest pieces. Take some time to explore the cases and discover amazing relics – a warlock’s eye, Atlantis artifacts, Loki’s shackles, Figment (from Epcot’s Journey’s Into Imagination with Figment), and Cosmo the Spacedog. The newest possessions on display are none other than the Guardians of the Galaxy: Star-Lord, Gamora, Rocket, and Drax. You will find yourself in the Collector’s office where Rocket has escaped his cage and is now requiring your assistance to break the remaining Guardians out of […]

  • Out and About at Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort

12/20/2017 • Reviews • Visiting Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort is the perfect destination for a relaxing vacation. But on the days you want a little more than just relaxing by the pool or on the beach, there are plenty of scheduled activities happening around the resort, but venturing off the property is a fun addition to a great trip. Savannah, GA - Taking a drive to Savannah, Georgia is a fabulous full day activity. We opted to do the Hop On Hop Off Trolley tour through Old Town Trolley Tours. It was a great way to get around the city. The drivers gave us a brief description of what you could explore at each stop. If the trolley tour isn’t for you, there are plenty of other tours available, such as a historic homes tour, a riverboat cruise, ghost tours and so much more. Bike Rentals – You can rent bikes at Disney […]

  • Main Street Philharmonic – a Disney Classic Performance Not to be Missed

3/19/2024 • Reviews, Walt Disney World • On a recent visit to the Magic Kingdom, we encountered the Main Street Philharmonic. I will be honest, we have seen countless parades that include them and have often seen them playing along Main Stweet USA, but this was the first time we stopped to enjoy their performance. In fact, we were trying to head to Tomorrowland for our expiring Fastpass. The kids were very engaged listening and watching them perform. They quickly sat down and asked to stay for their performance. We almost even missed our Fastpass, but no one seemed to mind. The Main Street Philharmonic is a 12-piece brass and percussion band. As we were approaching them, they were playing traditional Christmas songs. There were even a couple of small children that were dancing in front of them as they played. In between songs, members of the group would step forward and speak. They would explain what […]

  • Restaurant Spotlight: Whispering Canyon Cafe

12/13/2017 • Reviews, Walt Disney World • Walt Disney World is a very magical and the happiest place on earth. Everyone is happy and eager to help. There is a hidden gem of a restaurant that things just aren’t what they appear. The restaurant is Whispering Canyon Café located in Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort. Walking up to the podium, you’re surrounded by headdresses of past Native American chiefs and other relics from past times. The restaurant’s theme has the same motif. It’s an Old Western eatery that has bottomless platters and chuck wagon favorites will please the whole gang. Breakfast starts with an all you care to enjoy family platter that’s loaded with breakfast meats, eggs, potatoes and buttermilk biscuits. Lunch and dinner also have some finger licking delicious food. For lunch, there’s a very expansive menu to order from and come dinner time, the family platter isn’t to be beat. It has an all you care […]

  • Via Napoli – A Taste of Southern Italy at EPCOT

11/29/2017 • Reviews, Walt Disney World • Tucked away in the World Showcase at EPCOT, guest can enjoy authentic Italian cooking at one of my favorite restaurants…  Via Napoli!  This family-friendly restaurant and pizzeria is not to be missed on your next visit to EPCOT. Family style the Italian way is felt with the large table that stretches all across the whole width of the dining room.  Via Napoli is a warm, welcoming restaurant where guests can enjoy a culinary tour of Southern Italy with authentic Italian cooking, including hearty pastas, fresh salads and thin-crust pizzas that are perfected in a wood-burning ovens named after the 3 active volcanoes in Italy - Mount Etna, Mount Vesuvius and Stromboli. These mouth-watering pizzas are made with fresh mozzarella cheese, San Marzano tomatoes and real Caputo flour imported from Southern Italy. Water for the dough is even sourced from a spring similar to Italy's Campania region. Via Napoli is designed […]

  • Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort

11/15/2017 • Reviews • If you enjoy the hospitality that Disney offers but want something different and a little more relaxing than visiting a Disney park, our family discovered a hidden Disney gem. Last month, we had the pleasure of staying at Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort. The resort sits in two areas of the island. The actual resort is located in-land adjacent to the Shelter Cove Marina and The Beach House is about 1 ½ miles away on the ocean. The Beach House is where your family can enjoy a day at the beach, an additional pool and a quick service dining location. We stayed in building #31, which was the furthest location from the main building, but we loved it. We felt like we were tucked away but we biked around the resort and everything was a close walk to get to the pool and quick service dining. The resort is filled […]

  • Disney’s Carousel of Progress

3/15/2024 • Reviews, Walt Disney World • It's a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow..............."  If you are singing along at this point, you are familiar with my favorite classic attraction at Walt Disney World.  While some may walk by this classic attraction, this is a "MUST DO" on every visit to the Magic Kingdom for my family. Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress was personally created by Walt Disney for the 1964-65 New York World's Fair.  In 1975, the attraction moved to its current location in Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom.  This nostalgic attraction holds a special place in many people's hearts because it is one of the only attractions at Walt Disney World to have been touched by Walt Disney himself. The Carousel of Progress exemplifies Walt's love of history and progress.  This attraction highlights the industrial advances over the past century and how they have changed everyday living for the American family. While this show does not typically […]
