In February 2026, I had the opportunity to take part in one of Disneyland’s 70th Anniversary Celebration events! A Story of Celebration: 70th Anniversary Guided Tour at Disneyland Resort!
~~ You can see all that Disneyland’s 70th Anniversary Celebration has to offer in Nancy’s blog here: Limited Time Magic~~
It was truly an unforgettable experience to walk in Walt’s footsteps, learn of original plans, dreams, ideas…what better way to celebrate 70 years of magic!
We first began at the Tour booth next to Guest Relations in Town Square. We met with our tour guide who supplied us with radio earpieces to hear her stories, fun facts, and bits of Walt’s wisdom as we traveled through the park.

We walked in Walt’s footsteps. Traveled to the lands he built. Stood where he stood. Learned more of his vision and desire to always move forward, with an eye on the past. And most importantly, how he was always a kid at heart, and knew every adult has an inner child just waiting for that glimpse of magic once more!

The Story of Celebration tour allows you to ride not only the Disneyland Railroad, but the Mark Twain Riverboat - 2 day-one attractions! And because this all ‘started with a mouse’, we ended near Toontown where we were then given a Lightning Lane for Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway!
Upon conclusion of the actual tour, we were given a commemorative pin and VIP viewing for Paint the Night parade! Complete with a popcorn snack! It really was a fantastic day!
