For the last 25 years, Disney guests have been splashing around at one of the greatest overlooked experiences on Disney property - Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon! Disney is known for its great theming and Typhoon Lagoon does not disappoint. The details show evidence of the island paradise once wiped out by a typhoon; most notably, Miss Tilley’s shipwrecked shrimp boat on the top of Mount Meyday which erupts into a geyser every 30 minutes. Typhoon Lagoon is home to a wide range of “mild to wild” water attractions, and is a great place to cool off during the hottest Disney summer months. At the center of the park is the surf pool, which is the largest man-made wave pool in North America. The huge waves of the surf pool is one of the biggest draws to Typhoon Lagoon. Want to learn how to surf like a pro? Guests can before park […]

For families with little girls, booking a princess meal at Disney World is high on the must-do list but with multiple princess meal options – which one is best suited for your family? Cinderella’s Royal Table is located in Cinderella’s Castle. Hosted by Cinderella, you will have your family picture taken with her as you wait to be seated. After heading upstairs, other Disney princesses stop by your table to visit, allowing for pictures and autographs. For those with a dining package, this meal will cost two table service credits per person. Without a dining package, the cost per person will be one of the more expensive meals on property. As this restaurant is small in seating capacity, you may need to be flexible with your preferred dining time. Located in Epcot, Akershus Royal Banquet Hall is a wonderful choice. This meal features multiple princesses that visit your table. At […]

Sometimes, when you hear “We’re going to Disney World”, all you see are dollar signs. As with everything at Disney, great planning can help you to save money and stay right on budget! One of my favorite, not-so-little secrets, is to save some serious cash and go shopping for souvenirs at Disney’s Character Warehouse. When park merchandise isn’t sold, some of it is shipped to one of the two Character Warehouse outlet stores to be sold at heavily discounted prices. You can find anything from keychains, stuffed animals and shirts, to name brand designer bags. Both stores are located at a premium outlet mall, a short off-property drive. The mall names are very similar, but they are in different locations around Orlando. The nearest to Disney’s property is just to the east at Orlando Vineland Premium Outlet and the other location is northeast and closer to Universals property at Orlando […]

Despite the abundance of online resources and assistance from your Me and The Mouse Agent, there are still valuable insights to discover during your Disney vacation. Here are ten things Disney guests often wish they had known before embarking on their first magical adventure: Prepare for a Marathon of Walking: Walt Disney World sprawls 40 square miles, roughly the size of San Francisco. Expect to cover about 8 - 12 miles daily, so it’s crucial to wear comfortable shoes. Break them in before your trip, and consider renting a stroller for younger children even if they wouldn’t typically use one. Your little ones may appreciate the extra comfort during long days of exploration. Allocate Ample Time for Transportation: Disney provides various […]

Tiffins Restaurant is a Disney Signature restaurant located in the Animal Kingdom Theme Park. The menu contains items representing African, Indian, and South American and is open for lunch and dinner. The restaurant is inspired by the travels of the Imagineers explorations when they were creating the Animal Kingdom park. When dining at this location, be sure you take time to visit each of the three separate dining rooms. The separate rooms are referred to as galleries because they are themed and filled with select artwork. The waitstaff is eager to share the background of each room and art pieces. By having the restaurant separated by rooms, it helps makes your dining experience feel more intimate and is a quieter type of setting. If you are on the Disney Dining Plan, this will be a 2-credit table service reservation since it is a signature restaurant. You can also add to […]

If you’re like me, you can’t wait to take your little one (toddler) to Disney and experience it for the first time through your child’s eyes. Averting a meltdown: Rest Walt Disney World is huge and walking around just one park can add up those steps very quickly. Bring or rent a comfortable stroller to give tired feet a rest. As a mom of 4, I travel with food for when hunger strikes. While vacationing at Disney there is a myriad of wonderful dining options to please your palate. I often find I still like to have items on hand which include: fruit, bottled water, cereal/pop tarts, and granola bars. When my kids were babies, I also packed diapers and wipes which were essential items. For guests flying to Disney, you may not have a car to head out to the store, but these grocery delivery services can help and you do not need to go grocery shopping while you’re on vacation! When ordering groceries from one of the delivery services, make sure to include the following information: Name on the reservation Reservation Number Arrival Date Resort Address When your grocery order has been brought to your resort, it will be delivered to Bell Services. There is a cooler […]

As you prepare for a magical day at the parks, you might decide that you want to bring a bag along with you. While Disney and Universal Studios allow guests to bring bags into the parks, here are a few helpful tips for packing the perfect bag to bring on your next vacation. What’s the Ideal Bag? Select a bag that is easy to carry and lightweight. We love a small backpack, sling bag, or crossbody-style bag. Remember that what you pack in your bag in the beginning of the day, may feel like an extra 20lbs at the end of the day. At the park, your bags will be screened and searched. To help you move through security faster, we recommend selecting a bag that doesn’t have a lot of compartments nor bring multiple small makeup bags. All bags will be opened and searched before you can proceed into the parks. What Should I […]

Think a Disney Cruise is just for families traveling with kids? Think again! Your Me and The Mouse Team recently took a team trip aboard the Disney Dream and it’s not just for kids anymore! Let me start this by saying, I am not a cruise person and therefore, I haven’t been on many in the past few years. My main reasons for not liking cruises include being afraid that the boat is going to leave me at the port since I am, admittedly, not the timeliest individual (my poor husband), the crowds of people on board, and the presumably low-quality food. (If you have read any of my previous blogs, you’ve probably figured out I love food!) Lastly, my husband and I don’t have any kids yet, so why would we go on a Disney cruise specifically? While I didn’t know the answer to that before, I definitely do […]
