  • My Experience with Social Distancing Protocols at Universal Orlando Resort

10/20/2020 • Blog, Universal Studios • I recently returned from a wonderful Mother/Son trip to Universal Orlando Resort where we got to experience all of the social distancing guidelines firsthand. Thinking about what going into the parks with all the restrictions would mean not only myself but all our Me and The Mouse clients, had me a bit worrisome. I must tell you after my visit; I was IMPRESSED! We only had a few minor issues, both of which I will discuss, and neither had to do with the restrictions that were in place at Universal Orlando. Upon arrival at our resort, Loews Royal Pacific, we were greeted with a health check station right at the entrance to the lobby. We were asked a few questions and temperature screened. After passing the screening you are given a colored wristband that you are to wear the rest of the day. This will let resort employees and security […]

  • Vacationing at Universal Orlando’s Hard Rock Hotel

7/24/2020 • Blog, Universal Studios • If vacationing like a Rockstar piques your interest, then Universal’s Orlando Hard Rock Hotel might be your next vacation destination! The resort offers luxury accommodations with distinct rock and roll theming throughout, from the moment you enter the lobby and smell the “essence” of a Rockstar, to your hallway stroll which takes you past some incredible rock n’ roll memorabilia, such as one of John Lennon’s suits or even Elvis’ pajamas. The resort offers several types of rooms and suites, all of which are adorned with musical touches and luxury appointed features that will not disappoint. The mirrors in the rooms even show notches of heights for some of your favorite celebrities Justin Timberlake or even little Shirley Temple. The resort also offers club level rooms which include continental breakfast, soda and water throughout the day, and then an evening reception featuring appetizers, smaller entrees, like chicken or hot dogs, […]

  • Universal Dining Plan – Full Service Dining

5/29/2020 • Universal Studios • When planning to visit Universal Orlando, the easiest way to make sure your meals are stress-free is to use the Universal Dining Plan. Purchasing the dining plan is a great way to lock in great prices for great food. It is exclusively available for pre-purchase with a Universal Orlando vacation package (contact your Me and The Mouse Agent) or at the Universal Ticket Center Desk for on-site resort guests. One of the best parts of the Universal Dining Plan is the flexibility it offers. First, you are able to purchase this plan for as many days as you choose during your stay on property. You may also choose which member(s) of your family would like to purchase this plan. You are not obligated to purchase this plan for your length of stay or for everyone in your party. This is the only Universal dining plan that includes both full-service locations […]

  • Shutterbutton’s – Bring Home a Magical Memory of Your Time in Diagon Alley

3/8/2019 • Reviews, Tips, Universal Studios • They say a picture is worth 1000 words but a moving photo from your time spent at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter? There aren’t enough words to express the fun and magic that you experience at Shutterbutton’s. Located in Diagon Alley at Universal Studios Florida, Shutterbutton’s is a wizard photography store that captures both moving and still photographs for wizards to share with their friends, even muggles. Sessions are available for up to 4 people at a time and are recorded in one of two simple photography rooms, each with a green screen and an old-fashioned camera. Props such as robes and wands can be borrowed but if you plan on purchasing either of these as souvenirs, I recommend you purchase them before your appointment so you can have them at your disposal. Ollivander's Wand Shop happens to be located across the road from Shutterbutton’s so you can first […]

  • Universal 101: Universal Studios Florida

6/18/2018 • Tips, Universal Studios • Welcome to part two of my tour of Universal parks!  Last month, I took you on a virtual tour of all of my must-dos at Universal’s Islands of Adventure.  There is also so much to experience at the park on the other side at the original Universal Studios Florida theme park. First, make sure to have your camera ready at the entrance of Universal Studios Florida.   At the entrance of Universal Studios is the iconic globe, a must-take photo for guests. Once you have gone into the park, there are four attractions making up Production Central.   My first tip here before you do anything is to take your motion sickness medicine!   Despicable Me Minion Mayhem and Shrek are both great “screen” attractions while Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit is a high-flying roller coaster adventure with a choose-your-own soundtrack option.  Also popular in this area is Transformers the Ride 3D, which is […]

  • Your Preschooler and Universal Studios Orlando Resort

1/5/2016 • Universal Studios • Many clients ask us if their children are too young to visit theme parks. Universal Studios Orlando Resort offers unique experiences for preschool children in its theme parks. Before you plan your trip with your preschooler to the Universal Studios Orlando Resort, it is important that you think about the following points: Is your child: tall enough to ride the attractions? familiar with the characters and themed experiences at the Universal Resort? adventurous and willing to ride attractions that include motion simulators, 3D films, fast or tall drops, and spinning ride cars? more low key and prefer a playground and/or carnival style attractions? Your answers to these questions will ultimately help your decision on which parks and attractions to visit at the Universal Studios Orlando Resort. Universal Studios does contain a preschool friendly area featuring Woody Woodpecker and Curious George with a playground and splash pad. An animal show and […]
