Since the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Walt Disney World and Disneyland, Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run has been one of the most popular attractions. On this immersive attraction, guests can take flight on the iconic ship along with a team of five other passengers, each of which has their own designated duty (pilots, gunners, and engineers), in order to complete their smuggling mission. You and a crew of pilots, gunners, and engineers can embark on a smuggling mission through space inside Han Solo’s famous ship. While aboard, your team is assigned a mission with the help of Han Solo’s pal, Chewbacca, and pirate Hondo Ohnaka. Your goal is to acquire as much coaxium as possible and smuggle it back to the base. TRUE Star Wars fans will love a hidden “easter egg” within this attraction as you unlock “CHEWIE MODE”, which allows you to turn off Hondo Ohnaka […]

(Don’t worry – no spoilers here!) You’ve seen the movies, fallen in love with Chewbacca and Grogu, and maybe you’ve even visited the planet of Batuu (at Star Wars; Galaxy’s Edge in Walt Disney World’s Hollywood Studios). Did you ever think it would be possible to actually be a PART of the Star Wars story? Now is your chance! The brand new Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser lets you do just that. Immerse yourself in the story by interacting with characters and crew members aboard the Halcyon, an MPO-1400 model starcruiser from the Chandrila Charter Company. Complete missions aboard the starcruiser as well as on your excursion to Batuu to help the Resistance or serve the First Order, or simply enjoy watching other passengers as all the storylines play out. This is a highly immersive experience, so the more you play along, the further into the story you will go. What’s […]

For Star Wars fans, experiencing Star Tours is a highlight of Walt Disney World and Disneyland vacations that has you running back to the ride’s entrance as soon as you get off. As a fan of both Star Wars and Star Tours, the recent movie releases have brought extra excitement, knowing that Disney has added new movie scenes into the Star Tours experience. I will confess that I watched The Last Jedi trying to envision what parts of the movie would be added to the ride. As an extra treat for fans, director Rian Johnson has been reported as saying that as a fan of Star Tours himself, he specifically reflected the ride in the movie. A movie reflecting an attraction that reflects a movie, it’s almost too good to be true! As in the original version of Star Tours, the ride starts with you boarding a Starspeeder. C-3PO is […]

There are a lot of new things to see and do in Galaxy’s Edge, and while lightsaber building has been around for some time at the exit of Star Tours, the new Lightsaber building experience at Savi’s Workshop is completely different. This experience will set each builder back approximately $199 “Credits” (as they’re referred to when paying for anything in Galaxy’s Edge) plus tax. Reservations are required and each builder can be accompanied by one additional adult or child. Like many reservations throughout the Disney Parks, there is also a 24-hour cancelation policy. If the reservation isn’t canceled before that time or if there is a no show, the full cost of the experience will be charged to the card you have on file. I suggest arriving about 10 minutes early to check-in for your reservation. Once you have checked in, you will be given a menu that lists the […]

Defined as a vacuum, the VOID sounds ominous, but at Walt Disney World it is an amazing Star Wars virtual reality experience located in Disney Springs for ages 10 and up. As a first time visitor to the VOID, I had no idea what was about to happen to me or the emotions I was about to encounter. My group visiting the VOID consisted of four teens and two adults. As only four people maximum can experience the VOID at a time, our group was divided into two teams of three. After arriving for our scheduled time, we received wristbands with our names, rebel information, and access codes to the system. Up to two teams can be lead into a black room with two screens and eight tablets. At this point all cameras were banned from use. We didn’t want to jeopardize our mission! Each team was given a mission […]

Are you looking for a way your little one can have a unique experience at Disney’s Star Wars Weekends [mid-May thru Mid-June]? Consider the Padawan Mind Challenge. Designed for kids ages 4 to 11, this interactive trivia event will test your little ones’ Star Wars knowledge. My six-year-old participated in the event during SWW 2015. It was the first time and we loved the experience. We headed to Hollywood Studios for SWW and we were at the gate one hour before park opening. SWW are a little crowd crazy, and if you want to participate in any of the activities you need to sign-up when the park first opens. Signup was located at the ABC Sound Studio. The participant [Padawan] and one adult had to be present for signup, no exceptions. We walked straight to the ABC Studio and signed up easily. Most people were hoping to sign their little […]

A Review of Star Wars Weekends’ “Rebel Hangar” Well if you haven’t figured it out yet, my family travels to Disney in May or June for Star Wars Weekends (SWW). We are SWW junkies and proud of it. We dress up, wait in line for character signatures AND try out all the new events. This year Disney added an additional dining experience during SWW called the “Rebel Hangar.” It ended up being the most underrated, most loved event of our SWW experience. The Rebel Hangar was located in part of the “Backlot Express”. It was crudely decorated with Star Wars items and memorabilia, but that was kinda the point. Rebels are constantly on the move hiding from the Empire. Nothing is to be organized or well put together. Some of the posters and art were quite funny and […]

Star Wars Weekends occur at Disney’s Hollywood Studios during designated weekends in May and June, and it is extremely special time for super fans. Our young family decided to partake in one of the special dining events during SWW, at the Hollywood and Vine with Mickey and Friends. Disney’s favorite characters come together dressed as Star Wars classics. Be ready to see Jedi Mickey, Princess Leia Minnie, Darth Goofy, Ewok Chip and Dale, and Storm Trooper Donald. If you have visited the Hollywood and Vine under the leadership of Disney Junior, the atmosphere is very similar. When we entered we were treated to a photo opp with Ewok Chip and Dale, with pre-signed autograph cards. We were seated and the characters began rotating around the room and signing autographs and taking pictures. The buffet offered is VERY similar to the traditional Hollywood and Vine menu, only the menu items are […]

For all of us Disney Star Wars Fans, Star Wars Weekends at Walt Disney World’s Hollywood Studios is a must! It’s like ordering the best pizza in the world and then you find out it comes with extra cheese. Yes, please! What makes SWW hard for families with small children is that it can have a lot of lines and wait times and it may be a little more crowded than usual. Sometimes the little people in our family don’t understand why we need to be patient during these times. And I will have to admit SWW is a little more for Mommy and Daddy than the kids. One of the reasons our 2014 SWW was so magical with our small children, was the “Feel The Force Premium Package” offered during the event. The Feel the Force Premium Package gives VIP status and viewing areas for two of the day’s […]
