Walt Disney World is a very magical and the happiest place on earth. Everyone is happy and eager to help. There is a hidden gem of a restaurant that things just aren’t what they appear. The restaurant is Whispering Canyon Café located in Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort. Walking up to the podium, you’re surrounded by headdresses of past Native American chiefs and other relics from past times. The restaurant’s theme has the same motif. It’s an Old Western eatery that has bottomless platters and chuck wagon favorites will please the whole gang. Breakfast starts with an all you care to enjoy family platter that’s loaded with breakfast meats, eggs, potatoes and buttermilk biscuits. I want to share one of Walt Disney World Resorts “Best Kept Secrets” for a mouthwatering Steak Dinner Introducing: Yachtsman Steakhouse located at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort in the Epcot Resort area. Yachtsman Steakhouse is open for dinner only. If you are using the Disney Dining Plan, this restaurant requires two table service credits for dinner. Advance Reservations are recommended and can be made 60 before your vacation begins so be sure to contact your Me and The Mouse Travel Agent for assistance with your dining. This Signature Dining Experience, guests are asked to abide by a dress code. Men may wear khakis, slacks, jeans or dress shorts and collared shirts. Sport coats are optional. If you enjoy the hospitality that Disney offers but want something different and a little more relaxing than visiting a Disney park, our family discovered a hidden Disney gem. Last month, we had the pleasure of staying at Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort. The resort sits in two areas of the island. The actual resort is located in-land adjacent to the Shelter Cove Marina and The Beach House is about 1 ½ miles away on the ocean. The Beach House is where your family can enjoy a day at the beach, an additional pool and a quick service dining location. We stayed in building #31, which was the furthest location from the main building, but we loved it. Lights, Camera, Action! Welcome to Disney’s All Star Movies Resort. The All-Star Movies resort is one of three All Star value resorts on Disney property. This resort will get your family into the scenes of some of your favorite legendary Disney movies. I had the opportunity to stay at All Star Movies resort with my family. My kids were enamored by the gigantic character scenes that were located in each of the 5 different themed areas of the resort. These huge scenes are perfect photo opportunities for your family! If you are looking for something literally “off the beaten path” on your next Walt Disney World vacation, your search is over! The Tri-Circle-D Ranch at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground is perfect for the younger crowd and is the perfect place for memory making! Being a local Floridian people think that we go to Disney every day. I’m sure that if it was up to my daughter we would! However, in reality, and for the sake of the Magical experience becoming commonplace, we treat every trip like a mini vacation. We stumbled upon the Tri-Circle-D Ranch on one of our many “staycations”. My family of five found Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground to be perfect. Disney’s Port Orleans – Riverside Resort is a moderate level resort with the feel of a deluxe. Once you step foot onto the property, you immediately get the impression you are in a Louisiana port city with southern mansions. The setting is peaceful and convenient. The parks are a short ride via Disney bus service with bus stops located throughout the resort. This makes transportation easy and near the guest rooms. You are also conveniently located to Disney Springs, which can be accessed via boat. It is a wonderful way to end the day with a peaceful boat ride to and from a nice dinner at Disney Springs. For our family, having a great breakfast is an essential way to start a busy day in the parks. Our restaurant of choice is the Grand Floridian Café, which is inspired by the seacoast resorts with a Victorian charm. The café has beautiful views of the resort pool and gardens. The café is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner (or a quick dessert or snack), but it is our go-to restaurant for breakfast for a variety of reasons: It is a nice start to a day we plan on spending at Magic Kingdom no matter which resort we are staying. If you are not staying at the Grand Floridian, it has easy access by taking the bus to Magic Kingdom and hopping on either the monorail or a water taxi.
