Clients often ask “Where can I see Mickey Mouse or Cinderella?” While most characters have Meet-n-Greet locations in one of the four theme parks that make up Walt Disney World, Character Dining is a great way to spend a little more time with your favorite Disney character without having to stand in line or use one of your pre arranged Fastpasses. You will find character dining both inside the parks, as well as at select Walt Disney Resorts on property. Character dining is very popular and can be booked up to 180 days in advance of your arrival. As a Me and The Mouse client, your Travel Specialist is happy to make all your dining reservations for you. (Please note that characters are subject to change without notice). Below is a helpful aid in looking at and comparing the Character Dining experiences offered at Walt Disney World. You will find […]

I thought it would be fun to explore what kid’s thoughts and reactions were in relation to visiting Walt Disney World! My expert panel of kids have all recently visited and were excited to share with us what made their Disney vacation so memorable! A big step in planning a Disney vacation is a figuring out where you are going to stay. Disney’s on property resorts are amazing, they offer such a great continuation of the Disney experience. The kids were questioned about what their favorite aspect of staying at their Walt Disney resort was: “All the art work”. (Art of Animation) Isabelle (14) “The Herbie Car being at our resort”. (Pop Century) Ashton (11) “The Pool”. (Pop Century) Hannah (11) “The pool, theme, and monorail”. (Polynesian Village) Hunter (14) “The beignets at French Quarter”. (Port Orleans French Quarter) Jonathon (16) “I liked the headboards that light up”. (Port Orleans […]

A relatively new experience, the Bon Voyage Breakfast at Trattoria al Forno is a lovely alternative for character meals. Meet two of the most adventurous princesses out there – Ariel and Rapunzel! Accompanied by Prince Eric and Flynn Ryder {Eugene for those that know him well}, no less! Introduced by royal decree – each couple comes to visit tables and bring adventure to every family! Sometimes, Ariel may ask you to swim with her like her favorite fishy friends in a conga line! This restaurant boasts a charming, dark-wood, tile-floor, open kitchen concept everyone is sure to love. The dining room is more intimate, and ordering off menu versus a buffet is a wonderful change of pace! Every menu item is inspired by The Little Mermaid or Tangled. Before you start your adventure, each table has a “Bon Voyage Adventure Journal” to fill out. In it, your family will […]

Akershus Royal Banquet Hall is located at Epcot's Norway Pavillion. It is a fantastic opportunity to meet and greet with Disney Royalty on your next Walt Disney World vacation. Join the Disney Princesses for Storybook Dining inside a medieval castle setting in heart of Norway. When you arrive, guests are immediately greeted by Belle in her gorgeous yellow ballgown. Don't worry, a Photopass photographer is present! This means you will have a fantastic photo on your Memory Maker photo account. You will be able to enjoy later and send out to family and friends. After your visit with Belle, guests are are seated in one of two rooms reminiscent of great hall inside a storybook castle. On my most recent visit, our waiter Paal explained the menu and made suggestions from the menu. At lunch and dinner, every Guest’s royal feast begins with a “Taste of Norway”. A Hidden Gem For our family, having a great breakfast is an essential way to start a busy day in the parks. Our restaurant of choice is the Grand Floridian Café, which is inspired by the sea coast resorts with a Victorian charm. The café has beautiful views of the resort pool and gardens. The café is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner (or a quick dessert or snack), but it is our go-to restaurant for breakfast for a variety of reasons: It is a nice start to a day we plan on spending at Magic Kingdom no matter which resort we are staying. If you are not staying at the Grand Floridian, it has easy access by taking the bus to Magic Kingdom and hopping on either the monorail or a water taxi. The service is friendly The food is plentiful We have found it an easy choice as […]

Some of the essentials are getting to meet your favorite Disney character, enjoying some good food, and making sure you’re building unforgettable memories. There’s one place that you can achieve all three of these things at the same time. It’s at Mickey’s Backyard BBQ! It’s a seasonal dining event that can be sometimes overlooked. We stumbled upon it a long time ago, and now it’s on our must do when we vacation at Walt Disney World. What makes is so special you ask? Well there are more than just a few things. When you arrive at the pavilion at The Campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort, you will have your choice of seating at one of many long picnic style tables. Once the food is ready, everyone is able to get their food […]
