If you’ve already decided on St. Lucia, then I don’t have to tell you how breathtaking the island is or that you have to go! St. Lucia’s lush tropical landscape is captivating and makes you think you are in Hawaii, but without the all-day plane trip if you’re coming from the East Coast. Now that you’ve decided on St. Lucia, your next big decision will be which Sandals resort is the best fit for you. Luckily, these three resorts have something for everyone and will be having you wish you never had to leave the exotic beauty that is St. Lucia.

Our first stop is Sandals Grande St. Lucian. Located on Gros-Islet, it has a stunning view of Rodney Bay and the twin peaks of Les Pitons, volcanic mountains covered in lush tropical vegetation. Here you will find over-the-water bungalows and beachfront rondovals with private pools and butler service, in addition to 18 other room categories that lie on a mile of white sand beaches. Sandals Grande boasts 12 different restaurants and is always alive with activities. From nightly planned events like Reggae Night on Saturdays and Caribbean Carnival Beach BBQ Night on Mondays, to foam parties in the main pool during the day or even a stop at the London Pub, you will always find something fun and different to do on property. If you’re a social butterfly, Grande might be just the place for you! This is not to say there aren’t quite a few places of quiet retreat on the grounds. This is especially true if you are enjoying the over-the-water bungalows or rondovals, but if you prefer a more serene setting, La Toc or Halcyon might be more your idea of paradise.

Speaking of La Toc, it is one of my favorites! It is described as St. Lucia’s most glamorous adults-only resort. It rests on a 220-acre estate, set on a half-mile, crescent-shaped beach, cradling exotic coral bluffs, lush hillsides, and rolling fairways. Can you imagine yourself going anywhere else after envisioning that? There is definitely activity at the heart of the resort in the Emerald Village pool, the piano bar, Caribbean night, and more, but the star of this resort is the gorgeously appointed rooms and suites tucked quietly into the side of the Sunset Oceanview Bluff Village. The Sunset Oceanview Bluff Millionaire Butler Villas have their own private pools and feature fully retractable glass walls in both the master bedroom and living room that open up to 180 degrees of unobstructed views of the Caribbean Sea. In addition to the amazing rooms and magnificent views, La Toc also has an executive-style golf course with greens fees included, which should make your hubby happy while you indulge at the Red Lane Spa.

And last but not least is Halcyon. Halcyon is an intimate resort that’s described as a true Garden of Eden. It’s the perfect combination of serenity and white-sand beaches. The beachfront architecture features picturesque gingerbread-detailed cottages that are no taller than the highest palm trees which means gorgeous panoramic views of the Caribbean Sea. Halcyon does feature activities as well, but it’s a little more laid back than the other resorts making it the perfect escape. One of my favorite parts about Halcyon is Kelly’s Dockside restaurant which is perched on a 150-foot dock over the water. It has sweeping views of the turquoise waters and also boasts the enticing cuisine of the sea along with St. Lucia’s creole flare. For all you big city-lovers, this might be a great resort for you if you still want to hear some of the hustle and bustle of the city go by, all while drinking a Mai Tai in paradise.

Luckily, St. Lucia offers the “Stay at one and play at three” option, meaning that all three resorts have resort exchange privileges. A complimentary shuttle throughout the day will whisk you between resorts.
