Disney’s Vero Beach Resort is heaven on earth. It is perfect for a getaway or adding on a few days before or after a Walt Disney World park vacation or a Disney Cruise Line vacation. Vero Beach is a 2 hour drive from Orlando and 1 ½ hours from Port Canaveral cruise port.
If you are looking for a place to relax, this is the ideal destination. Rocking chairs on the porch is a relaxing way to enjoy a good book, the sea breeze and the ocean view. Or grab a lounge chair by the pool or rent a chair and sit on the beach to grab some sun and listen to the waves. To end the evening, you can join other families beside the campfire enjoying a few sing-alongs and s’mores.
If you are looking for a more active vacation, stop by Eb and Flo’s Rentals located adjacent to the pool to rent a bike and explore the bike trails the surround the property. You can also enjoy miniature golf, also located next to the pool, or participate in the numerous pool activities hosted by the Cast Members, or check-out the daily activities that are scheduled for all ages.
You can also find a variety of dining options on property. For a quick snack or light dinner, Wind and Waves Market is perfect for grab and go selections. If you desire a sit-down restaurant, then Wind and Waves Grill offers a great selection of entrees with a view of the ocean. When our family is poolside, we order lunch at the pool bar and enjoy it at the umbrella tables by the pool. The pool bar has a limited menu, but we find it is perfect for lunch. And it wouldn’t be a Disney meal if characters were not included. Therefore, you can find a character breakfast on select days with Donald and Goofy.
If you want to venture off the property, Orchid Island Pizzeria is across the street from the resort and they deliver. Otherwise, a 10 mile drive south on A1A, you will find restaurants and shopping. Mulligan’s Beach House Bar and Grill is one of my family’s favorite choices.
Your Me and The Mouse Travel Specialist will be happy to help you plan your relaxing Vero Beach getaway.
