With the continued hype of Jurassic Park movies, it’s no doubt that the T-Rex restaurant in Disney Springs is still as popular as ever! This dinosaur-themed restaurant is sure to excite the kids in your group and equally satisfy the taste buds of the adults. Open for lunch and dinner, T-Rex is a table service dining location with an extensive menu. As simple as burgers and fries, to seafood and steaks, to salads and pastas, there is something for everyone! The kids also have some of the most extensive menu options I’ve seen. As you check-in at the podium, you will not miss the 15 foot T-Rex proudly on display as you get ready for an exciting dinner. To your left, you will see the beginning of the themed rooms throughout the restaurant, a room, and bar with giant octopus tentacles overhead and a fish tank as the backdrop. As […]

Visiting Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort is the perfect destination for a relaxing vacation. But on the days you want a little more than just relaxing by the pool or on the beach, there are plenty of scheduled activities happening around the resort, but venturing off the property is a fun addition to a great trip. Savannah, GA - Taking a drive to Savannah, Georgia is a fabulous full day activity. We opted to do the Hop On Hop Off Trolley tour through Old Town Trolley Tours. It was a great way to get around the city. The drivers gave us a brief description of what you could explore at each stop. If the trolley tour isn’t for you, there are plenty of other tours available, such as a historic homes tour, a riverboat cruise, ghost tours and so much more. Bike Rentals – You can rent bikes at Disney […]

On a recent visit to the Magic Kingdom we encountered the Main Street Philharmonic. I will be honest, we have seen countless parades that include them and have often seen them playing along Main Stweet USA, but this was the first time we stopped to enjoy their performance. In fact, we were trying to head to Tomorrowland for our expiring fastpass. The kids were very engaged listening and watching them perform. They quickly sat down and asked to stay for their performance. We almost even missed our fastpass, but no one seemed to mind. The Main Street Philharmonic is a 12 piece brass and percussion band. As we were approaching them, they were playing traditional Christmas songs. There were even a couple of small children that were dancing in front of them as they played. In between songs, members of the group would step forward and speak. They would explain […]

If you enjoy the hospitality that Disney offers but want something different and a little more relaxing than visiting a Disney park, our family discovered a hidden Disney gem. Last month, we had the pleasure of staying at Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort. The resort sits in two areas of the island. The actual resort is located in-land adjacent to the Shelter Cove Marina and The Beach House is about 1 ½ miles away on the ocean. The Beach House is where your family can enjoy a day at the beach, an additional pool and a quick service dining location. We stayed in building #31, which was the furthest location from the main building, but we loved it. We felt like we were tucked away but we biked around the resort and everything was a close walk to get to the pool and quick service dining. The resort is filled […]

Kon'nichiwa! Greetings from Japan! Whether your family loves eating out at your local hibachi restaurant, or you’ve never tried hibachi before, on your next Walt Disney World vacation be sure to have your Me and the Mouse travel agent reserve for you a lunch or dinner at Teppan Edo, a table service meal located in Japan on the far side of World Showcase Lagoon. Check-in for Teppan Edo is located at the bottom of the stairs to the restaurant which is above the Mitsukoshi department store. After check-in, head up the stairs (an elevator is available for those that require it) and enter a calm and peaceful environment away from the hustle and bustle of Disney. Meals are served in one of several smaller rooms located along a hallway that overlooks Japan with a glimpse of World Showcase Lagoon. Four tables of 8 are located in each room and if […]

It's a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow..............." If you are singing along at this point, you are familiar with my favorite classic attraction at Walt Disney World. While some may walk by this classic attraction, this is a "MUST DO" on every visit to the Magic Kingdom for my family. Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress was personally created by Walt Disney for the 1964-65 New York World's Fair. In 1975, the attraction moved to its current location in Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom. This nostalgic attraction holds a special place in many people's hearts because it is one of the only attractions at Walt Disney World to have been touched by Walt Disney himself. The Carousel of Progress exemplifies Walt's love of history and progress. This attraction highlights the industrial advances over the past century and how they have changed everyday living for the American family. While this show does not typically […]

Old Key West. Simply put, this charming resort is a hidden gem. As the original Disney Vacation Club (DVC) resort, it can sometimes be overlooked because of newer villa resorts Disney has built or expands upon. This is a do not miss resort! All the charm and small community feel you want is wrapped up for you here. Theming As the name of the resort would suggest, this resort’s theme takes in the feel of the Florida Keys! You’re surrounded by villas laid out in a sub-division style, great views of water and golf-course fairways, tropical sounds piped through, and a small community feel of the Conch Flats. Rooms The rooms at this location can be described in one word…spacious! Although this isn’t the only word I’d use, it was a key factor for me and my extended family. It offers 4 room types: 1. Deluxe Studio: Sleeps up to […]

Please note: A Walk in Walt's Footsteps tour is currently not available at the Disneyland Resort, however, you can find other great tours here! It all started with … a mouse? Well, yes, but it also started with a family visit to a local carousel in Griffith Park, California. Sitting on a park bench, Walt imagined a special place a whole family could visit and enjoy together. A Walk in Walt’s Footsteps takes you step by step with a very hands-on Walt Disney as he envisioned and created a very magical new world, Disneyland. Meeting up at the guided tour booth at the entrance to Main Street, U.S.A., you are greeted by your guide and welcomed into a small group of fellow guests. Groups are generally less than twenty people so you can stay tight and stick together as your guide walks you through some of Walt’s favorite areas. Everyone […]

After you enter Epcot and take your picture by Spaceship Earth, the big golf ball, everyone rushes to their favorite attractions. Test Track, Soarin’ and Frozen Ever After to name a few. What some people don’t realize is that there’s a lot of really cool hands on areas as well as having the opportunity to not only learn more about our world, but there’s also a lot to learn about some of the different countries that are part of our world. Epcot consists of the World Showcase and Future World. Future World has pavilions that are dedicated to such topics as the ocean, space, transportation, agriculture, and innovation. Not only are their fun attractions at some of these pavilions, there’s also an area of hands on fun and learning. For example, after Journeying into the World of Imagination with Figment, you enter into the ImageWorks – The “What If’ Labs. […]
