After a long day in the theme parks, many visitors in the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California, like to spend their evenings in Downtown Disney. Shopping, dining, and live music are always a treat and Downtown Disney has no shortage of any! At Black Tap, a fast, casual dining location, you’ll find a long line. A line that one might not want to wait in just for a burger and milkshake. But oh, it is very worth it! Because it’s not just a burger or just a milkshake… Black Tap has the line-wait down to a science, really! What looked like an hour wait, was about 20 minutes to get to the ordering counter. Once in line, your party name and size are taken, and you are offered a menu to start planning your meal. This is a quick-service location with a large dining area, so it holds and moves […]

Run, don’t walk to the Polite Pig at Disney’s Town Center! My family and I recently tried the Polite Pig for the first time, and I guarantee it will not be our last!! We were a party of 9 and I wanted to try one of everything, but we did have to leave a few items to try for the next visit! We placed our order at the counter and then found a seat and a server brought the order to us. They were then incredibly helpful and made suggestions of their available sauces and they were right! As you enter the restaurant you are met with an amazing smell of smoked meats and spices! It was difficult to choose from the expansive menu. We did order a variety of entrees and sides. You can even make a meal out of the sides!!! You have the option of choosing […]

During discussions with my clients I often bring up visiting Disney Springs while on vacation. I have uncovered that many Disney first timers were unaware of this not-so-hidden oasis at Disney World. So the homeschool mom in me has put together today’s lesson: Disney Springs 101. Lesson 1: The History behind Disney Springs This area of Disney World opened on March 22, 1975 as Lake Buena Vista Village and was Disney’s first shopping area. The shopping area was actually set up to serve residents who were supposed to be living on Disney property. The plans changed and with that so did the name and purpose of Lake Buena Vista Village. The first name change took place in 1977 to Walt Disney World Village and the idea behind it now was to keep Disney guests on Disney property. With that idea in hand Walt Disney World Village transformed into […]

Like most savvy shoppers, when I enter I store I head straight for the clearance rack and begin to shuffle through the sales. With a crazed look in my eye, and my creative spirit, I put together outfits and accessories, and I love to brag how much I did not pay for a particular item. Now with this kind of shopping mentality, one can imagine how put out I am at Walt Disney World. Sales and discounts seem to be an item few and far between. So, here is Disney’s dirty little shopping secret: all their sale and discount items are sold offsite! I first experienced this secret last summer when I was visiting during Star Wars Weekends at Hollywood Studios. I was talking to lovely local couple at the Hollywood and Vine. They saw I had purchased a coffee tumbler for my husband for $30. They told me, “You […]

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to fly like your favorite Disney characters? Peter Pan, Dumbo, Jasmine and Aladdin and many others? That’s what Characters in Flight is all about! Step aboard this hand painted, helium filled balloon for an all new view of the theme parks and Resort hotels in the distance. You’ll get a 360-degree view of Downtown Disney from up to 400 feet in the air. Operated by Ae’rophile S.A., the basket holds up to 29 passengers and 1 operator. From this height you will be able to walk the entire circle of the basket to get views from every angle. You really can see as far as 10 miles away! It’s truly stunning at night! The operators love answering questions about the balloon too so feel free to ask away. Once you reach the maximum height you will spend about 10 minutes looking […]
