One of the most magical experiences when visiting Walt Disney World is dining at Cinderella’s Royal Table inside Cinderella’s castle. This is a highly sought-after reservation that we often book for our clients and ourselves. Did you know there is a package you can add to make it even more magical? The Signature Celebration Package is a perfect way to celebrate birthdays, engagements, anniversaries, or just a fun splurge. This package begins with dinner at Cinderella’s Royal Table with some truly royal characters. You will be treated to a specialty beverage or sparkling wine if you are 21 and up, an appetizer, an entrée of your choice, and a box of treats to take with you. We love starting with the charcuterie platter and having the filet and shrimp for our entrée. There are plenty of kid-friendly choices as well, including my kid’s favorite mac and cheese. You will also […]

On my family's most recent trip to Disney's Hollywood Studios, we decided to revisit Mama Melrose's Ristorante Italiano, which we had enjoyed a few years earlier. This adorable restaurant lived up to the memories we had made on our earlier trip to Hollywood Studios. This charming little Italian restaurant is nestled on the back side of Hollywood Studios park near the Muppet 3D Vision attraction. When you enter the restaurant, guests immediately notice the lobby walls covered in black and white framed head shots of some of your favorite movie stars from yesterday and today. The interior of Mama Melrose's is reminiscent of a little family-owned Italian restaurant on the corner. The brick walls are covered with record albums of legendary Italian singers, while checked curtains cover the windows and stringed lights add to the cozy atmosphere. House specialties include fresh mozzarella, penne alla vodka with chicken or shrimp, flatbreads, […]

Magic Kingdom, Walt Disney World Be Our Guest. It is arguably the most popular restaurant in all of Disney World. Reservations are extremely hard to come by for any meal, but as Disney cracked down on third party websites offering reservations to Disney property restaurants, reservations have become a bit easier. It took this girl 3 visits to Disney World and lots of planning before I could finally snag a reservation for dinner, and it was so worth it! My daughter and I arrived slightly early for our dinner reservation, and they were quick to accommodate us. We were greeted outside the castle by a Cast Member carrying Lumiere. She gave us a brief tour of the castle as we were led to the West Wing, much to my daughter's delight. The ambience inside was perfect - dimly lit, the magic rose glowing softly in its glass case in the […]

Some people are lucky enough to travel to Disney World more than once in their lifetime. If you are so lucky, you may find comfort in doing the same things you enjoyed from past trips on your current trip, like staying in a resort you loved, eating at the same dining locations, riding your top attractions, and even planning your days to be just like they were on your last trip. Sometimes it is hard to step out of your comfort zone and make different plans. I more than excited for my next trip! Why? Because I am going to break tradition and add some new things to my itinerary that I’ve never done. Here are some things you can opt to do to switch up your Disney trip to keep the fun and excitement fresh if you are a frequent visitor to the Disney World Resort: 1. Stay somewhere […]

We all have that one place we go to no matter what when we visit Disney World. That place, for me, has been and always will be dining at the Crystal Palace restaurant. I have dined here since I was a little girl starting at the age of 5 and have continued to make it a staple with my current trips with my own family almost 30 years later. What is the Crystal Palace? This restaurant is a character dining, buffet styled meal nestled in the heart of Magic Kingdom. Its look was inspired by Victorian greenhouses of the late 1800s. It is surrounded by windows to give you that true greenhouse feel and allows you to enjoy the scenery outside. When you walk into the restaurant, you are greeted by lush greens, topiaries and a glass roof in the atrium. There is seating on either side of the restaurant. […]

So you booked a vacation package for Walt Disney World. My room, tickets, and meals are all paid for so what do I need to bring money for beside souvenirs? There are several cast members that you will encounter on your trip that you may want to tip in cash. Anyone that handles your luggage, you should tip $1-2 per bag. This includes curbside check-in at the airport, Magical Express, and bell hops at the resorts. You do not need to worry about tipping the cast member that delivers your bags to the room from Magical Express because you most likely will not be in the room. You should tip for salon services, Mousekeeping ($1 per person per day), valet ($2-5), and boat drivers. You can also choose to tip at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, Harmony Barber Shop, and Pirate’s League. If you are on the dining plan, gratuity is not included […]

Every trip we take to Walt Disney World includes a meal at Chef Mickey’s. Not only is the food delicious but it is a great way to see the characters without standing in line at the parks! Chef Mickey’s is located inside the Contemporary Resort. The menu is an all-you-can-eat buffet with a wide variety of foods. This is perfect if you have a picky eater! They offer breakfast, brunch, and dinner. During your meal, the characters will come right up to your table for autographs and photos. The characters you may see are Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Pluto, Donald Duck, and Goofy. There is also an opportunity to dance in your seats with the characters. It is so much fun to watch your child swing their napkin above their head with a smile of pure excitement on their face! Chef Mickey’s is a popular restaurant so advanced dining reservations […]

Situated on Main Street USA, around the corner from the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor, is one of my favorite restaurants and a hidden gem at Magic Kingdom........The Plaza Restaurant! This full serve restaurant has plenty of turn of the century charm and is reasonably priced for a sit-down restaurant on property, with adult entrees ranging from $12 - $18. The Plaza is open for lunch and dinner and is 1 table service credit on the Disney Dining plan. This quaint, cozy ice cream parlor is small, which I feel is part of the charm of dining here. If you happen to be dining during a parade, you will enjoy glimpses of the floats and Cinderella's Castle too. The menue is made up of mainly soup, sandwiches, burgers, and salads. The Chicken Strawberry salad is a signature dish here. Choosing a dessert may prove to be difficult as […]

Who doesn’t love it when a last minute dinner reservation, one of only a handful you are able to find with such short notice, turns out to be such a pleasant surprise? This was our experience with the Maya Grill at the Coronado Springs Resort at Walt Disney World. We had shuffled reservations around during the week to accommodate changes in plan due to the very hot weather. We were tired and worn out, so we ended up back at our resort mid-afternoon when we realized…..we’re going to be hungry soon! I quickly checked on MyDisneyExperience.com to see what was available for the evening and not too far away, and there were only a few options that popped up with dinner reservation at a reasonable time for our family. The Maya Grill at our resort had looked nice when we peeked in earlier in the day, so we decided to […]
