When most people think about Walt Disney World, they think of "The Mouse", a favorite princess, a space ranger, or maybe even a silly monster comes to mind, but not many people think about playing a round of golf before a day at Magic Kingdom. Walt Disney World Golf has four courses to choose from, and if you’re not able to tote your own clubs to the "Happiest Place on Turf", you can rent some of the latest and greatest TaylorMade clubs on the market for $50 per person.
As with anything Disney, everything is meticulously kept, and the service is helpful and friendly. When you check in for your round you are given a couple sleeves of new golf balls, offered range balls if you want to warm up before your round, and directed to the appropriate areas to do so. The carts are equipped with GPS technology that offer yardages, pin positions, and hole diagrams to help you make your plan from tee to green.
The courses are challenging for all levels of players but also provide multiple scoring opportunities for those going out to keep score. If you're staying on Disney property you can get advanced tee-times up to 90 days out. Vouchers for transportation are also available for resort guests if needed. If you are looking to add a little something different to your Disney vacation, consider some of what WDWG has to offer. The zoysia fairways are plush, the greens are well kept and roll smooth. The scenery around each of the courses provide great views from shot to shot, and there are quite a few opportunities to catch glimpses of local wildlife like egrets, herons, other birds local to the area, and maybe even an alligator! You definitely want to keep an eye out near any of the lakes if you get to looking for a lost ball.
