In 2023 and extended through 2024 - those Walt Disney Resort guests who have a stay booked at a Deluxe Disney Resort or Deluxe Villa Disney Resort are eligible for Extended Evening Hours on limited and select nights at either Magic Kingdom Park or Epcot. These Extended Evening Hours allow entry for only those deluxe resort guests to enjoy theme parks at a lower capacity beyond normal park closing hours. Combined with the early theme park entry for all resort guests, you can really maximize your park time!
This amazing evening perk to those staying at one of Walt Disney World’s Deluxe Resorts also affords them one more super, and free, opportunity to experience the hottest new attractions in each park!
In the My Disney Experience app, those staying at a Deluxe Resort during an Extended Evening Hours day, get the chance to join the Virtual Queue for Tron Lightcycle Run (Magic Kingdom) or Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind (Epcot) in a third virtual queue release at 6pm! If you were unable to obtain one earlier in the day for these attractions, 6pm is your next chance, as long as you are a Deluxe Resort guest!
Deluxe Resort Guests should check their My Disney Experience app to ensure their resort reservation is linked, and that the ‘join virtual queue’ option allows them to select eligible party members. If you run into any issues before 6pm - simply visit any Guest Experience Team Blue Umbrella stands found throughout the parks, for them to assist with any app glitches you may encounter. Note - Guest Experience Team cannot get virtual queues for you, unfortunately. They can only fix issues so that you can obtain them smoothly!
* Deluxe Resort Guests must have scanned into that park, at some point, that day.
* Be sure you are logged into your My Disney Experience App by at least 5:30pm.
* On the home screen, scroll down to the Virtual Queue image, and tap to pre-select your eligible virtual queue party - within 30 min of the queue opening.
* At 6pm, guests can refresh the Virtual Queue screen, and hopefully have fast fingers, to grab a virtual queue during those Extended Evening Hours!
In my most recent visit, I was able to join the Tron Virtual Queue at 6pm for our Extended Evening Hours. As you can see from the screenshot, our return time was almost midnight! As Extended Evening Hours end at midnight, we hoped our return time would change as the evening progressed. I unfortunately was unable to experience Tron, even with the virtual queue - as a huge lightning storm rolled in, and we decided to head back to the hotel.
Please keep in mind that many are trying for this virtual queue, just as they had throughout the day. Virtual queue times cannot be changed, so plan your evening accordingly! Return times can change based on those returning, unexpected ride closures, weather, etc. Obtaining a virtual queue does not guarantee you will experience the attraction.
