  • Biergarten Restaurant

    5/5/2017 • Reviews, Walt Disney World • An Authentic German Experience {& Perfect for the WHOLE Family!} One of my family’s top Disney dining picks is the Biergarten Restaurant. In our opinion, it’s one of Disney’s best kept dining secret.  It’s tucked away in Germany within the World Showcase at Epcot.  We found the podium outside of the restaurant, but we had no clue what fun was behind the front doors! My family happened to discover it on accident.  During one of our Disney vacations, we decided that we wanted to try a new restaurant.  This is easy to do as there are so many options at Disney World.  However, when you’re a party of 12 wanting to eat dinner somewhere within the next 3 hours, this can complicate things.  One of the only places that could accommodate us was Biergarten.  Taking a chance, we all agreed to try this restaurant.  It turned out to be the best decision […]

  • Jock Lindsey’s Hanger Bar – A Casual Place for Eats and Drinks

    11/18/2016 • Reviews, Walt Disney World • After a busy day of exploring the parks, sometimes it’s nice to take a break with a relaxing dinner, unique drinks and great atmosphere.  Jock Lindsey’s Hanger Bar is just the place.  Not only does it not take reservations and has a water front view, but the menu of eats and drinks are specially themed as the ex-home of Indiana Jones’ side kick. Located in Disney Springs, the family friendly Hanger Bar is for walk-ups only.  There are no reservations taken and none needed.  While it has a water front location, there are plenty of tables inside the building as well as outside on the water.  If you’re lucky, you may be able to sit inside the helmet of a scuba diver or sit in the boat that’s on the side of the Hanger Bar that’s lifted above the water.  If you are sitting outside, you will be able to […]

  • Top 10 Quick Service Restaurants at the Disneyland Resort

    11/10/2016 • Disneyland • Jolly Holiday Bakery Café, Disneyland – At the top of Main Street, you’ll find this gem. Amazing for breakfast (scrambled egg and cheese on a croissant!), even better for lunch and dinner with amazing sandwiches, soups and salads. And yes……there are a TON of yummy dessert treats!  Bengal Barbecue, Disneyland – Not the best location to find a seat, but the Jungle Skewers they offer up are delicious. My picks – a beef skewer and a veggie skewer. Just thinking about them makes my mouth water! La Brea Bakery, Downtown Disney – Although not owned by Disney, La Brea Bakery has been making waves in Los Angeles for years with their amazing bread. This is my go-to to pick-up lunch when heading back to the resort to relax. They have quite a large menu, but my favorite comfort food from La Brea Bakery will always be their Grilled Three Cheese sandwich with a […]

  • A New Way to Experience Disney!

    10/21/2016 • Walt Disney World • Think Disney is just for families and couples, guess again! Let me just say this, I love Disney!  I’ve been there more times that I can count with my family.  I’ve also been with my husband and our new family.  During each of these vacations, we were able to build some awesome memories that we will never forget.  Earlier this past year, I got to experience Disney in a way I’ve not experienced it before, on my own!   I spent quite a bit of time in Orlando this past spring and it took me away from my family and friends.  I suddenly realized, why not go and spend some time at Disney!  Even though I would be by myself, I knew I would be in a place surrounded by all of the happy memories that I’ve built over the years.  Once I arrived at the resort, I was so […]

  • Our Experience at the California Grill {Review}

    10/11/2016 • Reviews, Walt Disney World • California Grill is located at the top floor of the Contemporary Resort at Walt Disney World.  With floor to ceiling windows, it offers beautiful panoramic views of Magic Kingdom and the Seven Seas Lagoon.  It also boasts a rooftop terrace to view the fireworks in the evening including music piped in from the Magic Kingdom! This past July, I ate at California Grill with my family. Upon arrival, we checked in on Floor 2 at the Contemporary Resort.  We gave the hostess our cell number and received a text when our table was ready.  Once our table was ready, we took a private elevator to the 15th floor.  When we got off the elevator, we were immediately greeted by a hostess and seated at our table. The menu offered a wide variety of options. I ordered the oak fire fillet and my husband opted for the seabass.  It was absolutely delicious […]

  • Adventures in Africa – Dining at the Tusker House

    10/4/2016 • Reviews, Walt Disney World • If you headed to the far-east corners of Asia or have plans to explore the savannas of Africa, you will want to stop in Harambe for a delicious meal with your favorite Disney friends at the Tusker House Restaurant as you explore Disney's Animal Kingdom park.  It's Perfect for the Entire Family! This character meal is one of our family's "must-dos" every time we visit Animal Kingdom park.  The meal is hosted by Safari Donald Duck and you will find more Disney friends, typically Daisy, Mickey, and Goofy, all dressed up in their Safari outfits there too.  We have always found the character interaction at this restaurant to be fantastic and not rushed.  The buffet is 1 table service credit on the Disney Dining Plan and advance dining reservations are highly recommended.   The Tusker House is a fantastic choice for any family! Their dishes include family favorites, as well as specialty […]

  • The Magic of the Disneyland Hotel

    9/20/2016 • Disneyland, Reviews • My family recently was able to experience the magic of staying at the Disneyland Hotel.  The Disneyland Hotel consists of 3 towers: Adventure Tower, Frontier Tower, and Fantasy Tower. Check-In When you first arrive you will go into the Fantasy Tower to check in.  The Fantasy Tower is named after Fantasy Land and you will see decor that commemorates the attractions within that land: Dumbo, Mad Hatters Tea Cups, and the Storybook Land. Minnie Mouse and Pluto greeted us while we were in the lobby checking into our room. It was so fun to watch my kids interact with the characters and we didn’t even have to wait in a line!  Also within the Fantasy Tower, you will find a couple gift shops (Fantasia Shop and Small World gift and sundries) and an entrance to the resorts convention center.  The Adventure Tower’s lobby features décor from the Jungle Book and Pirates of the […]

  • Making the Dining Plan Fit Your Vacation Needs

    9/12/2016 • Tips, Walt Disney World • So much food. So little time. We have the perfect plan for you! Today we're discussing how to get the biggest bang for your buck with Disney's dining plan! Let's get started! I know many guests add the plus dining plan to their Disney World package.  The plan gives you 1 table service, 1 quick service, and 1 snack credit per person per night stay.  You get ALL those credits at the beginning of your trip, meaning you can spend those credits whenever you’d like.  Most guests plan to eat one table service meal per day.  The benefits are:  they get a break in their day, they regroup as a family, and try some of the best restaurants on property.   Something many don’t think about before traveling, is the amount of food they will consume by having a table service meal (along with a quick service meal and snack) […]

  • Epcot Dining… Beyond the Park!

    8/4/2015 • Walt Disney World • Epcot Dining….Beyond the Park! While touring Epcot, you already have a lot of dining options from snacks, to quick service, to table service located throughout the park.  What some people may not realize is that your dining options go beyond the gates of Epcot through the International Gateway entrance near World Showcase. There are a variety of dining options located right in the Epcot Resorts area.  The best part is, it can give you that much needed break from the park crowds and it can be as short as a 5-15 minute casual walk or boat ride away.  These restaurants range from snacks to table service with some quick service in between to fit many of your dining needs! The immediate locations for food can be found at the Yacht and Beach Club Resorts.   These are two beautiful resorts that give you a place to leisurely walk or sit along […]

  • Cruise In For a Memorable Meal at Hollywood Studio’s Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant

    9/22/2014 • Walt Disney World • Cruise right in for a memorable meal at Hollywood Studios Sci-Fi Dine-In.  This Hollywood sound stage takes you back to the era of drive-ins and sock hops.  Your family will enjoy sitting underneath a sky full of your twinkling stars  in your “automo-booth or table” as classic black and white science fiction clips and commercials play on the big screen. You will find classic 50’s drive-in foods, such as onion rings, milkshakes (be sure to ask about the milkshake of the day!) and build-your-own burgers, but that’s not all.  The menu hosts other memorable dishes, such as New York Strip Steak, Smoked Turkey sandwiches, and St. Louis-style Pork Ribs.  Your children will find a wide variety of choices on the kid’s menu, such as popcorn chicken, mac-n-cheese, cheeseburgers, and grilled salmon to just name a few.  You’ll want to save room for another milkshake for dessert or perhaps some warm […]
