Being the self-proclaimed Disney nuts that we are, it’s no surprise that when it was time to get our son’s first haircut, the Harmony Barbershop on Main Street USA in Disney World was at the top of our list. As with most “firsts” for your little one, the anxiety was high but there were a few reasons we loved the experience and continue to go back for a cut just about every time we are there now! They are so used to cutting kids'/babies' hair. Wiggles don’t worry them and they shouldn’t worry you either. These aren’t just professionals but they are cast members and they deal with kids all day. It’s more than just a haircut, it’s entertainment. They pull out all the tricks to keep your little one entertained and happy while they trim trim away. From stickers to light-up toys and an occasional song, it is a […]

So you booked a vacation package for Walt Disney World. My room, tickets, and meals are all paid for so what do I need to bring money for beside souvenirs? There are several cast members that you will encounter on your trip that you may want to tip in cash. Anyone that handles your luggage, you should tip $1-2 per bag. This includes curbside check-in at the airport, Magical Express, and bell hops at the resorts. You do not need to worry about tipping the cast member that delivers your bags to the room from Magical Express because you most likely will not be in the room. You should tip for salon services, Mousekeeping ($1 per person per day), valet ($2-5), and boat drivers. You can also choose to tip at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, Harmony Barber Shop, and Pirate’s League. If you are on the dining plan, gratuity is not included […]

However, there are "magical moments" on Main Street at Walt Disney World. One hidden treasure is the Harmony Barbershop on Main Street. Reservations for resort guests can be made up to 180 day in advance, but walk-ins are also welcomed. Early in the morning and during parades are a great time for walk-ins. "First Haircuts" are their specialty, which includes a certificate to remember the experience, as well as "My 1st Haircut" mouse ears . This package cost $18.00. Confetti, colored hair gel and pixie dust for girls and pirate dust for boys are also available for an additional cost. This full-service barbershop shouldn't be missed! With the red and white barber pole outside to the antique cash register being […]
