Incredible Restaurant at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park One of the best tips for making the most of your time at Walt Disney World is to stay in the parks for your meals. While there are many great table service selections in Epcot, Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios, there are only a handful available in Animal Kingdom. With the new Pandora expansion, more and more guests are wanting to spend time in Animal Kingdom so a table service meal inside the park is usually the best way to have a meal break without wasting time traveling to another part of Walt Disney World. I'm introducing you to one of my favorite spots to grab a bite to eat - Yak & Yeti! Nestled in the Asia section of Animal Kingdom lies one of the most overlooked restaurants in all of Walt Disney World: The Yak & the Yeti. This restaurant […]

Located in the Marketplace Town Center right in the Heart of Disney Springs (across from The Landing) hides this hidden gem! Sprinkles Cupcakes boasts a wide variety of sweet treats, including gourmet cupcakes, cookies, ice cream, shakes, and an assortment of specialty beverages. Sprinkles opened its doors at Disney Springs May 15, 2016 and continues to command a crowd of sweet seekers nightly. The hours of operation are 10am - 12am daily. During peak seasons, they have a queue out front for guests, so the line doesn't get out of control while they wait for their sweet treat. For patrons on the go, the Sprinkles at Disney Springs even has a Cupcake ATM! {I know, it sounds amazing!} It's restocked throughout the day and night. So you can purchase cupcakes and cookies 24 hours a day {again, this sounds like a dream!!}! Guests can enjoy their cupcakes out on the deck overlooking the Disney […]

Last month, I discussed tips on how to prepare and items to bring to hopefully avoid sensory overload. {You can read about it, here!} As a mom of a son living with Fragile X Syndrome, the leading cause of inherited intellectual impairment and leading known genetic cause of Autism, I feel as if I am always anticipating what could be a potential trigger for overload. Sometimes, even the best-laid plans don’t work out. A storm can pop up, a ride can have a temporary closure, or fireworks can suddenly go off from a show that you didn’t even realize was taking place!! I have put together a list of tips/suggestions for managing overload once it has reached near overflow! Baby Care/First Aid Station: Although you do not “need” any aid, this is often an area with air conditioning, seating and simply a quiet place out of the hustle and bustle. […]

Many people associate going to Disney World with visiting the parks, but there is so much to do outside of the parks. In fact, our family has enjoyed a Disney vacation without ever stepping foot inside a park. It’s also great to build in non-park days to get in a little downtime between park days. There are a variety of activities to experience other than the fabulous pools located at your resort. Take a stroll around Disney Springs and browse the stores to purchase your souvenirs. One of the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique locations is right in Disney Springs so you can get your little princess ready for one of your princess dining experiences. Or visit Splittsville and enjoy their fun bowling alley and restaurant. Take in a round of golf on one of 3 – 18-hole championship courses. If you don’t want to bring your clubs, no problem, clubs and […]

Are you looking for a way your little one can have a unique experience at Disney’s Star Wars Weekends [mid-May thru Mid-June]? Consider the Padawan Mind Challenge. Designed for kids ages 4 to 11, this interactive trivia event will test your little ones’ Star Wars knowledge. My six-year-old participated in the event during SWW 2015. It was the first time and we loved the experience. We headed to Hollywood Studios for SWW and we were at the gate one hour before park opening. SWW are a little crowd crazy, and if you want to participate in any of the activities you need to sign-up when the park first opens. Signup was located at the ABC Sound Studio. The participant [Padawan] and one adult had to be present for signup, no exceptions. We walked straight to the ABC Studio and signed up easily. Most people were hoping to sign their little […]

One of the most popular shows at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland is Fantasmic! During the busiest seasons, guests will start waiting up to 2 hours before the show to watch this 25-minute spectacle. But waiting for a long period of time is not the only way you can see this amazing show. For those guests headed to Walt Disney World, there is another option to ensure your seat in this show - Disney’s Fantasmic! Dining Package. Disney’s Fantasmic! Dining Package is a limited package. Those guests with this package will dine at their reservation and at the end of their meal they will receive tickets allowing entry into a designated seating section for the Fantasmic! show held that night. With park admission and your meal, there is no additional cost to have the show option added, however, the meal itself will be at a fixed price. But is […]

Disney has very few height restrictions on rides, and you've got a “child swap” ticket in your hand, but what do you and your preschooler do while everyone else goes on a ride? You can take them on another ride, check out the nearby shops, or stand in line for a character greeting, but times rarely match up nicely that you always seem to have a few extra minutes to spend. Here’s a list of places at Magic Kingdom and Epcot where you can go with your child to help entertain them. Waiting at Magic Kingdom - Big Thunder Mountain and Splash Mountain These rides are close to one another and share some great spots to take the little ones. The first place you can take them is Tom Sawyer Island. You can spend as much or as little time as you want on the island and the ride back is only […]
