Quick Service Dining at Pandora - The World of AVATAR The Satuli Canteen is a the Quick Service Dining location in Pandora: The World of Avatar. It has a unique menu of healthy dishes to satisfy all travelers exploring the Valley of Mo'ara on Pandora. Situated between the Flight of Passage and the Na'vi River Journey, this former RDA (Resource Development Administration) mess hall is now a peaceful resting spot adorned with the art of the Na'vi and supplying travelers with all the comforts of home. Travelers will find cuisine inspired by their journey through the Valley of Mo'ara. Satuli Canteen is considered a fast-casual restaurant on the Quick Service Dining Plan. Our meals were served off a china bowls, reminiscent of flora of the natural habitat. Guests will find silverware to dine with, as well as indoor and outdoor seating. Looking for something sweet while at Epcot? Caramel Confections at the Karamell-Küche" Nestled inside the quaint village-like setting of Germany at Epcot's World Showcase is one of my favorite treasures...Karamell-Küche {Caramel Kitchen}. This charming confectionary is a "must-do" on every trip to EPCOT. The rich smell of Carmel entices you in as you walk by the front door. Guests are immediately greeted with the smell of the fresh caramel popcorn that is being made in the store. Don't be afraid of the line. It will move fast and the wait is definitely worth it!!! At quick glance, many will see the caramel popcorn identified as a snack credit on the Disney Dining Plan. While I highly recommend this use of your snack credit, don't think you are limited to just the savory hot caramel popcorn. As you wait your turn, you will get a glimmer of the delicious, heavenly treats that are […]

On my family's most recent trip to Disney's Hollywood Studios, we decided to revisit Mama Melrose's Ristorante Italiano, which we had enjoyed a few years earlier. This adorable restaurant lived up to the memories we had made on our earlier trip to Hollywood Studios. This charming little Italian restaurant is nestled on the back side of Hollywood Studios park near the Muppet 3D Vision attraction. When you enter the restaurant, guests immediately notice the lobby walls covered in black and white framed head shots of some of your favorite movie stars from yesterday and today. The interior of Mama Melrose's is reminiscent of a little family-owned Italian restaurant on the corner. The brick walls are covered with record albums of legendary Italian singers, while checked curtains cover the windows and stringed lights add to the cozy atmosphere. House specialties include fresh mozzarella, penne alla vodka with chicken or shrimp, flatbreads, […]

Magic Kingdom, Walt Disney World Be Our Guest. It is arguably the most popular restaurant in all of Disney World. Reservations are extremely hard to come by for any meal, but as Disney cracked down on third party websites offering reservations to Disney property restaurants, reservations have become a bit easier. It took this girl 3 visits to Disney World and lots of planning before I could finally snag a reservation for dinner, and it was so worth it! My daughter and I arrived slightly early for our dinner reservation, and they were quick to accommodate us. We were greeted outside the castle by a Cast Member carrying Lumiere. She gave us a brief tour of the castle as we were led to the West Wing, much to my daughter's delight. The ambience inside was perfect - dimly lit, the magic rose glowing softly in its glass case in the […]

We all have that one place we go to no matter what when we visit Disney World. That place, for me, has been and always will be dining at the Crystal Palace restaurant. I have dined here since I was a little girl starting at the age of 5 and have continued to make it a staple with my current trips with my own family almost 30 years later. What is the Crystal Palace? This restaurant is a character dining, buffet styled meal nestled in the heart of Magic Kingdom. Its look was inspired by Victorian greenhouses of the late 1800s. It is surrounded by windows to give you that true greenhouse feel and allows you to enjoy the scenery outside. When you walk into the restaurant, you are greeted by lush greens, topiaries and a glass roof in the atrium. There is seating on either side of the restaurant. […]

Many people think a snack credit at Walt Disney World consists of a drink and candy. But they are wrong! There are so many great items that people are missing out on. If you are unsure of what counts as a snack credit, the menu at the establishment will be labeled. Just look for the snack symbol. It’s a small purple and white “DDP” symbol. Some of our top favorites are: Funnel cakes Mickey Pretzels Popcorn Beignets - Disney's Port Orleans Resort Lefou's Brew (without the specialty cup) - Gaston's Tavern, Magic Kingdom Chicken Fried Rice - Anandapur Local Foods Cafes, Animal Kingdom Dole Whip Floats - Magic Kingdom Specialty Cupcakes - Starring Rolls Café, Hollywood Studios Ice Cream Sundae - Main Street Ice Cream Parlor, Magic Kingdom So as you can see there are many great options! Be sure to go for the high priced items since a snack […]

Every trip we take to Walt Disney World includes a meal at Chef Mickey’s. Not only is the food delicious but it is a great way to see the characters without standing in line at the parks! Chef Mickey’s is located inside the Contemporary Resort. The menu is an all-you-can-eat buffet with a wide variety of foods. This is perfect if you have a picky eater! They offer breakfast, brunch, and dinner. During your meal, the characters will come right up to your table for autographs and photos. The characters you may see are Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Pluto, Donald Duck, and Goofy. There is also an opportunity to dance in your seats with the characters. It is so much fun to watch your child swing their napkin above their head with a smile of pure excitement on their face! Chef Mickey’s is a popular restaurant so advanced dining reservations […]

Situated on Main Street USA, around the corner from the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor, is one of my favorite restaurants and a hidden gem at Magic Kingdom........The Plaza Restaurant! This full serve restaurant has plenty of turn of the century charm and is reasonably priced for a sit-down restaurant on property, with adult entrees ranging from $12 - $18. The Plaza is open for lunch and dinner and is 1 table service credit on the Disney Dining plan. This quaint, cozy ice cream parlor is small, which I feel is part of the charm of dining here. If you happen to be dining during a parade, you will enjoy glimpses of the floats and Cinderella's Castle too. The menue is made up of mainly soup, sandwiches, burgers, and salads. The Chicken Strawberry salad is a signature dish here. Choosing a dessert may prove to be difficult as […]

Who doesn’t love it when a last minute dinner reservation, one of only a handful you are able to find with such short notice, turns out to be such a pleasant surprise? This was our experience with the Maya Grill at the Coronado Springs Resort at Walt Disney World. We had shuffled reservations around during the week to accommodate changes in plan due to the very hot weather. We were tired and worn out, so we ended up back at our resort mid-afternoon when we realized…..we’re going to be hungry soon! I quickly checked on MyDisneyExperience.com to see what was available for the evening and not too far away, and there were only a few options that popped up with dinner reservation at a reasonable time for our family. The Maya Grill at our resort had looked nice when we peeked in earlier in the day, so we decided to […]
