Walt Disney World guests can expect to walk a minimum of 7,000 steps per day in the parks. For guests who would be more comfortable using a scooter or ECV, here are some quick tips for using a mobility device in the parks.
Where to Rent:
Rent directly at the parks - If you only want a scooter for the day, you can rent one at the front of each of the four theme parks.
Downside - Rentals are first come, first served. You cannot take the scooter back to your resort hotel or on resort transportation.
$50 per day, plus a $20 refundable deposit.
If you are park hopping, be sure to keep your receipt. You will need to return your rental before leaving the park. When you arrive at the next park, pending availability, you will be able to show your receipt for that day to rent another personal vehicle, but you will need to make another $20 refundable deposit.
Scooterbug - Disney's featured partner can deliver your scooter to your resort hotel to Bell Services without you needing to be present.
Upside - more options and accessories may be available.
Prices vary, starting at $37.50 per day based on a 4-day rental
Kingdom Strollers (another popular 3rd party service provider)
Upside - more options and accessories may be available.
Downside - guests must meet the driver for delivery and pick-up. They cannot leave them at Bell Services for you.
Prices vary, starting at $95 for up to 3 nights.
Getting Around the Walt Disney World Resort:
Disney buses are handicap accessible as long as the scooter is no larger than 30"x48". Space is limited. The guest must be able to drive the scooter up the ramp onto the bus where the driver will then secure it.
- The monorail is fully accessible with the use of a ramp.
- The SkyLiner is fully accessible and has a special loading area specifically for guests with a wheelchair or scooter.
