With so many fabulous table service restaurants in Disney World, it can be difficult to choose. While I have never personally been disappointed at any of the locations I’ve dined at, there are still a few my family has yet to try. We have a bucket list of restaurants that we haven’t dined at, and on each trip, we make sure to try at least 2 or 3 different restaurants. On our last family trip, we finally checked Rose and Crown off our dining bucket list. Nestled in the UK pavilion of Epcot, this family-friendly British pub boasts some truly delicious food. We were seated waterfront for our dinner. Had we chosen a later reservation it would have been the perfect spot to view the night show Epcot-Forever. Outside seating is covered, providing shade from the Florida sun, while inside looks like you’ve walked right into a traditional pub in England. Inside you will also find a bar that is often busy and can be a little on the loud side, as you would expect any British pub to be. At certain times of day (as listed on the times' guide or in your My Disney Experience App) you may even enjoy some live music if you are seated inside.
We started our meal with the United Kingdom cheese platter. The platter included 3 generous tastings of cheeses as well as their accompaniments and crackers. I love a cheese plate and this one truly didn’t disappoint. Other available appetizers include scotch eggs, soup, and salad. Next for our main courses we each chose differently, yet both traditional entrees. I chose the shepherd’s pie. It was a delicious mixture of ground beef, vegetables, and peas and topped with mashed potatoes and Irish cheddar. While my entrée was wonderful, my husband’s meal still leaves me dreaming and craving. He ordered the fish and chips. Now, I have had a lot of fish and chips, but this was absolutely the best I have ever had. The fish was perfectly cooked, the breading was light and flavorful, and none of it was greasy. I would order it again in a heartbeat.
Other traditional offerings include bangers and mash, as well as Scottish salmon, and corned beef and cabbage. My girls opted for the typical kid food of mac and cheese and cheese flatbread (pizza). The mac and cheese were easily their favorite. For dessert, the kids were brought ice cream sundaes complete with Mickey sprinkles. My husband ordered the Chocolate Nougat Bar and it was very rich and decadent. I opted for the Sticky Toffee Pudding and it was by far my favorite dessert of the entire trip. A moist cake is served over warm custard and all topped with a caramel rum sauce. I would go back to this restaurant for this dessert alone.
If you are looking for great waterfront Epcot dining this location is not to be missed.
