My family loves to spend part of our Walt Disney World vacations visiting Disney Springs to explore the new restaurants and shops. This is a great way to use a day you may not be visiting a park or on your arrival or departure days and you need a few hours to fill your day. One of our new favorite eateries is Frontera Cocina by celebrity chef Rick Bayless. They offer delicious Mexican food with a “twist”. They are open for both lunch and dinner and offer specials Monday – Thursday.

The inside of the restaurant is bright and inviting or you can be seated outside where it is a peaceful setting overlooking a small lake and great for people watching. A nice way to unwind after a busy day at the parks. The outside seating area is small and provides a more quaint and quiet dining experience. Even if the weather is on the chilly side, they have patio heaters to keep you warm and still enjoy the view.

We started our meal with margaritas and chips and guacamole. I am picky about my guacamole and this was close to the best guacamole I have eaten. My husband enjoyed the tortilla soup as a starter and chicken salad and I had the steak fajitas.

The menu was limited, but there are options to satisfy those that are looking for fish, chicken, meat, and veggie entrees. The serving sizes are generous, and we left full.

If you do not want to take the time to sit and eat, they have a to-go window. You can then take your meal and walk around Disney Springs or head back to your resort. Just note that the menu is more limited than the dining room, but they still offer great taco options to go as well as margaritas, beer, and soft drinks.

Buen provecho!!
