Looking for a secret gem of a dining location located in the heart of Walt Disney World? Look no further than Steakhouse 71, located at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, just outside the Magic Kingdom. Inspired by Walt Disney and named for the year of the opening of Walt Disney World, you can find historic pictures amid mid-century design and enjoy a portfolio of the Disney family wines as you sit down to enjoy breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
At Breakfast time is where you can enjoy scrumptious options such as Walt’s Prime Rib Hash, Floridian Eggs Benedict, or the Avocado Toast while sipping on a Mimosa, while the kids enjoy Mickey-shaped Waffles (a must on any Disney vacation!) with a Sunshine Punch before heading to the parks for a day of play. With the restaurant located on the first floor, simply head out the doors and you’ll find yourself on the pathway to Magic Kingdom and right by the bus stop to head to the other parks.
Come hungry at lunch or dinner because you will want to order both appetizers and desserts along with your entree. For those that believe carbs don’t count when on vacation, start off your meal with the Potato Brioche and Steakhouse 71 Onion Rings and be sure to share with everyone at your table. If you are looking to be healthier, try their Baby Iceberg Wedge Salad with the Blue cheese dressing – all are great appetizers to enjoy while you talk over the fun you’ve had so far and what you are looking forward to next.
If your ideal meal includes steak, this is the place to be. All six Steakhouse Cuts come with your choice of appetizer and sauce. Since there are too many delicious sides to select only one, choose multiple options among your table and enjoy small bites of each while you find your favorite. The Au-Gratin Potatoes and the Macaroni and Cheese are phenomenal side options as are the Charred Asparagus and Red-Wine Glazed Mushrooms. Steakhouse 71 also serves options for those that prefer something other than steak for their entree – from chicken to fish and even Vegetable Wellington, this restaurant is sure to have something to please every palate.
At this point in time, you may be too full to enjoy dessert but if there is even a tiny amount of room left in your stomach, cap off your meal with the layered Steakhouse 71 Chocolate Cake or Apple Tart Tatin. It’s the goodnight kiss to a wonderful dining experience.
Once you’ve eaten at Steakhouse 71, you’ll want to come back time and time again for this delicious meal and relaxing location. Ask your Me and The Mouse Travel agent to book your reservation so you can coordinate the timing of the end of your meal with the start of the Magic Kingdom fireworks so you can simply walk outside the Contemporary Resort and appreciate them from another fantastic view that’s located just outside the park. Bon Appetit and enjoy your next Disney meal!
