If you are a breakfast fan and are looking for a unique dining experience, I recommend trying the breakfast buffet at Boma - Flavors of Africa. Boma is located at Animal Kingdom Lodge at Jambo House. It is a family-friendly themed Disney dining experience.
I have enjoyed the Boma dinner experience for years when visiting Walt Disney World. I was thrilled to have the opportunity to enjoy the Boma breakfast experience while attending a travel agent training at Walt Disney World with my fellow agent, Tressa Krippel. You are in for a treat if your are trying Boma breakfast for the first time like me. It is a good choice because you will find traditional breakfast items in addition to items with an African flair. Although breakfast is served buffet style, a server will bring your drinks to your table.
Boma serves breakfast daily from 7:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m., is closed for lunch, and reopens for dinner from 5:00 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. This is not a character dining location for either meal. Boma participates in the Disney Dining Plan and uses one dining credit. If you are paying out of pocket, you can expect to pay $29.00 for adults and $16.00 for children ages 3-9. When you arrive, if your table is not ready, you may provide your U.S. 10 digit mobile number to receive text message alerts when your table is ready. My recommendation is to start off with a glass of Jungle Juice. Jungle Juice is a signature drink at Boma consisting of a blend of passion fruit, orange, and guava juices. Other assorted breakfast juices are cranberry, orange, apple, tomato, and grapefruit. If you are a coffee lover, try the press pot with Kenyan Coffee.
When you step up to the buffet, you will find over 60 items served at several stations. I will give you an overview although selections vary daily. I like to start with a refreshing healthy bowl of fresh fruit. The yogurt bar is a healthy choice as well. You will also find an array of traditional breakfast items of bacon, link sausage, scrambled eggs, breakfast potatoes, pancakes, assorted pastries, and doughnuts. You will also find a station featuring a variety of breads, assorted flavors of bagels, croissants, banana bread, and a variety of muffins. Spreads include peanut butter, cream cheese, jams, and African Chocolate Hazelnut Spread.
The carving station is very popular offering hand-carved breakfast ham and hand-carved turkey. A made-to-order omelet station is also available. You will find a fun display of ingredient choices such as swiss and cheddar cheese, ham, bacon, sausage, spinach, tomato, jalapeno, mushrooms, onion, red and green pepper when you visit the omelet station. A few fun entrees include specialty M&M pancakes, Mickey and Simba waffles, and the must-try sticky buns.
Looking for options with African flair? Try the African Fruit Fool which is essentially a creamy fruit salad including pineapple, mango, papaya, green apples, grapes, bananas, heavy cream, vanilla, and sweetened shredded coconut. You must absolutely save room for the French Toast Bread Pudding with Praline Sauce and Vanilla Sauce as well.
