When Royal Caribbean named their private island Perfect Day at CocoCay, they weren’t exaggerating — especially if you’re lucky enough to spend it in one of their Overwater Cabanas at the Coco Beach Club.
Our multigenerational family, ranging in age from 16 to over 70, decided to splurge on one of these luxurious cabanas for our group's big birthday celebration during our island day. And honestly? It was worth every penny.

Our Overwater Cabana was stunning — complete with loungers, overwater hammocks, and even a private slide straight into the ocean (a huge hit with the teenagers in our group!). Inside, there was a comfy shaded seating area, a mini-fridge stocked with water and other drinks, an indoor shower, and a Bluetooth speaker so we could play our own music and set the vibe for the day.

What really set this experience apart was the personalized service. Our amazing cabana attendant, Gopal, made sure our glasses were never empty and that we had anything we could possibly need. From tropical cocktails to gourmet dishes from the Coco Beach Club restaurant, everything was brought right to us before we even knew we needed it.
The menu was far beyond typical beach fare — think lobster, and filet mignon, but also some traditional comfort foods for our picky eaters. Having it all delivered to our private overwater hideaway made it feel like a true VIP experience.

What I loved most was how perfect it was for all ages.
● The teens couldn’t get enough of the slide and snorkeling right off the deck where ocean life was abundant.
● The adults loved lounging (napping) in the sun.
● And everyone appreciated the peaceful setting, comfortable seating, and easy access to everything without the crowds or chaos that might come with being onboard the ship.
It was the ideal mix of relaxation and fun, all in one beautiful spot.

For us, it was absolutely worth the splurge! The Overwater Cabanas aren’t cheap — they’re a luxury experience, no question. But when you divide the cost among a family or group of friends, it becomes a truly special and memorable way to spend your day at CocoCay.
