Hi, I’m Nancy Wideman - Your Family’s Personal Travel Advisor!
I grew up in Los Angeles, where Disneyland was woven into the fabric of my childhood. Every visit was filled with magic, and at the center of those memories were my mom, my sister, and my grandmother. My grandmother was such an important person in my life. She would whistle along to the music on rides, chat with the horticulturists outside “it’s a small world” about the topiaries, and in her own quiet way, she made every trip feel special.
Looking back, I realize that those moments weren’t just about the rides or the Mickey-shaped balloons. They were about us - the time together, the traditions we built, and the joy of sharing something magical across generations. Family was always at the heart of it.
At 16, my family started traveling internationally - England, Scotland, Switzerland, France, Italy, Germany. Later, as an adult, I added even more destinations: Ireland, Australia, Hawaii, Alaska, Costa Rica. Each trip created new layers of memories and reminded me of what matters most: family and relationships.
When I moved from California to Michigan with my husband, travel became even more important. I wanted my own kids to have those same experiences exploring the U.S. and the world. When it came time to plan our first trip to Walt Disney World, my sister suggested using a Disney-focused travel advisor. I had no idea that was even possible! Growing up in Disneyland’s backyard, I thought planning was just something you did on your own. But in that moment, something clicked.
I realized this was my dream job - helping other families plan the kinds of trips that had shaped me. Not just booking travel but removing the overwhelm, being a friend and guide through the process, and giving families the gift of showing up fully prepared, relaxed, and ready to reconnect with each other. Because that’s what travel is about - not just seeing the world but experiencing it together. Sharing meals, laughing on rides, standing in awe of history or nature side by side. It’s about creating stories you’ll tell for the rest of your life.
Some of my favorite trips to plan are the “firsts” - a family’s first Disney vacation, first cruise, first European adventure. There’s so much anticipation and excitement, and I love knowing my expertise can help make it extraordinary. I also love planning multigenerational trips - grandparents, parents, kids, cousins - all together. It brings me right back to traveling with my own grandparents, aunt, uncle and cousin, and it reminds me of how powerful those layered memories can be.
In the end, my hope is that the families I work with don’t just take a vacation. I hope they gain something much bigger. I want them to feel cared for, to feel like they had a friend walking alongside them, and to come home with memories more magical than they ever dreamed.
Because we never know when a trip together might be our last. That’s why these moments matter so much. And that’s why I do what I do.
I do not plan adventures everywhere in the world. I focus on destinations I’ve personally experienced – places I can give first-hand recommendations on what to see, where to find great food, the best shopping, and even safety tips. When choosing the right travel advisor, work with someone who not only shares your values but can also speak authentically about the destinations you want to explore. That way, you know your vacation is planned with both expertise and genuine care.
Let’s connect, explore the world, and create something magical together ... because life is too short for generic vacations.
