From those running in their first race, those running in memory of a loved one, and many enjoying a weekend with friends and family, being a part of this weekend made for Disney memories that every Disney fan should experience at least once in their lifetime.
Registration
Registration for the following year’s Princess Marathon Weekend opens up 7 months in advance. To register for any Disney race, registration spots are now filling within minutes of opening. Be sure to register an account with active.com before the registration date and be online when registration opens or you may not be able to race your chosen event. Have all your information beside you at the time of registration including your credit card information, and proof of time if you wish to enter an estimated half marathon finish time less than 2 hours 45 minutes, including the website link with the proof of time. If you wish to enter the Glass Slipper Challenge which comprises both the 10K and half marathon, there is a specific link for this registration. Entering both the 10K and half marathon separately will not qualify you for the Glass Slipper Challenge Medal. Registration is also available through designated charities.
Your Walt Disney World Resort Stay
All Walt Disney World resorts are official race resorts for Princess Half Marathon Weekend. The lobby will contain a sign with all the transportation information and hours that you will need to know for both the expo and the races. While runDisney encourages you to book your travel stay directly through them, their discounts are not always the best available for your weekend stay depending on available promotions. Be sure to book with a Me and Mouse Travel agent as they will be able to make sure your stay is giving you the best value for your dollar. Wondering about eating the morning of your race? Your resort quick service restaurant will not be open early before your race, however, there are designated runner bags available for purchase the night before each race. Be sure to look for these in addition to other great food options that you can store in your room refrigerator for your pre-race breakfast.
Expo
The Princess Half Marathon Weekend expo is as much an event as the race itself. Packet pickup is located in the HP Pavilion Building. The Glass Slipper entrants will not only pick up their race package but also have their picture taken with their bib number. This picture will be used at the end of the half marathon before your Glass Slipper medal is handed out. The most popular booths at the race expo are the New Balance and Dooney and Bourke booths. New Balance offers runDisney specific shoes only available at runDisney races. You must go online early the morning of the expo to register for a time to return to their booth try on your selected shoes. Both the New Balance Disney shoes and the Dooney and Bourke purses will sell out, and if this is a high priority purchase, be sure to be at the expo the first morning it opens.
