On May 27, 2017 (The opening day for Pandora) lines for the rides were 250+ minutes. Thankfully, we are Walt Disney World Annual Pass Holders. We had the opportunity to sign up for an EXCLUSIVE Pass Holder Preview that took place a week before the land opened to the public. WHAT AN INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCE. The “land” is like none other at Walt Disney World. As soon as you step in, you feel as if you are on another planet or 4.4 light years away. We were able to explore the “planet” and ride both The Flight of Avatar and The Na’vi River Journey without a wait. You will be entertained on your way to the ride. As the line queues themselves are full of incredible sites. The Flight of Avatar begins with a process in which an “Avatar” is made for each rider. This will link you to a […]

Learn all about The World of Avatar! Alpha Centauri Expeditions {ACE} has made it possible for humans to explore Pandora. Unique expeditions and breathtaking views are around every corner in the Valley of Mo'ara on Pandroa. Pandora features floating mountains, gentle waterfalls, bioluminescent rainforest and amazing, flying creatures known as Banshees or "Ikran" by the Na'vi. Stepping into the land of Mo'ara, guests are immediately transformed by the beauty of the flora that surrounds them. The plant life is diverse in both color and size, as well as in purpose. For example, Vein Pods act as sponges and help maintain stability in the environment. Puffball Trees are important plants on Pandora for detoxifying the atmosphere. Panopyra resemble Earth's jellyfish and captures water and minerals from the dew and fog. Guests will have the opportunity to interact with different elements in nature as well. For example, when you rub a native plant, the Flaska Reclinata, it releases its spores […]

An Authentic German Experience {& Perfect for the WHOLE Family!} One of my family’s top Disney dining picks is the Biergarten Restaurant. In our opinion, it’s one of Disney’s best kept dining secret. It’s tucked away in Germany within the World Showcase at Epcot. We found the podium outside of the restaurant, but we had no clue what fun was behind the front doors! My family happened to discover it on accident. During one of our Disney vacations, we decided that we wanted to try a new restaurant. This is easy to do as there are so many options at Disney World. However, when you’re a party of 12 wanting to eat dinner somewhere within the next 3 hours, this can complicate things. One of the only places that could accommodate us was Biergarten. Taking a chance, we all agreed to try this restaurant. It turned out to be the best decision […]

Akershus Royal Banquet Hall is located at Epcot's Norway Pavillion. It is a fantastic opportunity to meet and greet with Disney Royalty on your next Walt Disney World vacation. Join the Disney Princesses for Storybook Dining inside a medieval castle setting in heart of Norway. When you arrive, guests are immediately greeted by Belle in her gorgeous yellow ballgown. Don't worry, a Photopass photographer is present! This means you will have a fantastic photo on your Memory Maker photo account. You will be able to enjoy later and send out to family and friends. After your visit with Belle, guests are are seated in one of two rooms reminiscent of great hall inside a storybook castle. On my most recent visit, our waiter Paal explained the menu and made suggestions from the menu. At lunch and dinner, every Guest’s royal feast begins with a “Taste of Norway”. This features Scandinavian seafood, […]

“The perfect spot to view the Magic Kingdom Fireworks”... is a very subjective opinion. For those who have seen Magic Kingdom Fireworks before, they might suggest to you, “Why not…”: Main Street by The Plaza Restaurant? The Hub? The Rose Garden? Tomorrowland Terrace? Main Street USA near the Train Station? Liberty Square bridge? These are all amazing spots...but I’m suggesting you take a different and more adventurous approach to your fireworks viewing experience! ***this is a suggestion for those who have seen the fireworks before, or don’t feel like grabbing a spot early to view them in their entirety*** First, check your My Disney Experience app to see when the evening Fireworks will be offered the day you will be visiting the Magic Kingdom. Times may vary depending upon extended evening hours, special events, holidays, etc. Second, arrange a Lightning Lane for a time that overlaps evening fireworks […]

Sweet treats. Delectable delights. Gorgeous candies. Heavenly smells. You will find all this and more at The Ganachery, located in The Landing at Disney Springs. This fancy chocolatier has a wide variety of sweet in which to indulge. Samples are often given of fillings to entice passers by...much like I was with an amazing peanut butter filling. I was hooked. The display case was filled with the fanciest squares of chocolates I had ever seen. We chose 6 chocolates to sample: 2 peanut butter chocolate, 1 mint, 1 raspberry, and 2 salted caramels. We then took our delights into Jock Lindsey’s Hangar bar to enjoy with a cocktail. It was a refreshingly wise choice! Our chocolatier boxed our chocolates in delicate wrapping, within a designer box, which was then wrapped in special Valentine ‘end’. Expertly crafted chocolates and presentation. Unboxing our chocolates was almost as fun as eating […]

Disney’s Port Orleans – Riverside Resort is a moderate level resort with the feel of a deluxe. Once you step foot onto the property, you immediately get the impression you are in a Louisiana port city with southern mansions. The setting is peaceful and convenient. The parks are a short ride via Disney bus service with bus stops located throughout the resort. This makes transportation easy and near the guest rooms. You are also conveniently located to Disney Springs, which can be accessed via boat. It is a wonderful way to end the day with a peaceful boat ride to and from a nice dinner at Disney Springs. The rooms are well appointed and I found they were very quiet. Even with 2 queen size beds, there was ample room and very comfortable. Exploring the property is a must-do while staying at Port Orleans. You can take a stroll is […]

Last month, I discussed tips on how to prepare and items to bring to hopefully avoid sensory overload. {You can read about it, here!} As a mom of a son living with Fragile X Syndrome, the leading cause of inherited intellectual impairment and leading known genetic cause of Autism, I feel as if I am always anticipating what could be a potential trigger for overload. Sometimes, even the best-laid plans don’t work out. A storm can pop up, a ride can have a temporary closure, or fireworks can suddenly go off from a show that you didn’t even realize was taking place!! I have put together a list of tips/suggestions for managing overload once it has reached near overflow! Baby Care/First Aid Station: Although you do not “need” any aid, this is often an area with air conditioning, seating and simply a quiet place out of the hustle and bustle. […]

It’s not very often that new attractions will open at Walt Disney World let alone a whole new land! Well, that is what’s getting ready to happen with the opening of Pandora at Disney’s Animal Kingdom on May 27th, 2017! After watching the movie Avatar and then hearing the news that Disney was going to somehow incorporate this into Animal Kingdom, I’ve been very excited. The movie itself is visually stunning and the special effects are amazing. Now, combine that with the magic of Disney and this new land is sure to be a huge hit! While visiting Walt Disney World periodically last year, it was pretty amazing to see all of the construction and work they were doing coming together. It was pretty amazing to see the floating mountains in the Disney sky and try to imagine what the rest of Pandora would look like. At nighttime, the jungle will […]

Many people associate going to Disney World with visiting the parks, but there is so much to do outside of the parks. In fact, our family has enjoyed a Disney vacation without ever stepping foot inside a park. It’s also great to build in non-park days to get in a little downtime between park days. There are a variety of activities to experience other than the fabulous pools located at your resort. Take a stroll around Disney Springs and browse the stores to purchase your souvenirs. One of the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique locations is right in Disney Springs so you can get your little princess ready for one of your princess dining experiences. Or visit Splittsville and enjoy their fun bowling alley and restaurant. Take in a round of golf on one of 3 – 18-hole championship courses. If you don’t want to bring your clubs, no problem, clubs and […]
