BIG CHANGES have been happening at Disney World…(in case you haven’t heard).  From the long-anticipated Toy Story Land coming to Hollywood Studios at the end of June 2018, to room renovations at their ever-popular themed resorts, and gondola systems being constructed as an added form of transportation…the changes seem endless.

Disney never fails to keep finding ways to strike the interest of its fans with new and exciting big projects!   Last year in Animal Kingdom, the large addition was Pandora – The World of Avatar.  While the momentum of that land has not seemed to waiver after months of being open, Disney likes to add some smaller changes to the parks as well to keep with its evolution.  Making smaller additions to the parks keeps the interest of the Disney fans so they always have something NEW to look forward to on their next trip.

Even with a major opening last year, Animal Kingdom is STILL a focal point for Disney with new and exciting offerings …

The first is ‘UP! A Great Bird Show’!  This just debuted at the end of April and opened just in time for the 20th Anniversary of Animal Kingdom Park.  Fans of the movie UP! who fell in love with Russell and Dug will love this new attraction as both of them are here to be a part of the show.  The entire family can enjoy learning all about species of birds from a senior Wilderness Explorer.  This show does offer a FastPass and has a handful of shows throughout the day.  Make sure you grab a times guide when you arrive to the park to not miss the fun!

The second has yet to begin!  Premiering on May 25th, 2018, guests visiting Animal Kingdom Park in DinoLand USA in the evening (after 4 PM*) will now have an added treat waiting for them!  Donald’s Dino-Bash will be open to guests with bright new colorful décor and festively dressed characters.  Here, guests will be celebrating with Donald his discovery that his ancestors were DINOSAURS!!

The best thing about this bash?  You not only get to meet Donald himself, but also Daisy, Goofy, Pluto, Chip and Dale….and my personal favorites….wait for it….Launchpad McQuack (hello to my childhood) and Scrooge McDuck! Talk about a ton of added fun for the families and yet another reason to visit this exciting park in the evening hours.

The big changes are great and really give us new and wonderful things to look forward to…but I personally love the smaller changes that really add to the charm and theming of the parks.  Do not miss either of these two new additions on your next Animal Kingdom visit…after you have checked out the Floating Mountains of course!
