14 Jan The Disney Dining Plan: How Does It Work?
One of the many perks of staying at a Walt Disney World resort is being able to add Disney’s Dining Plan onto your package. While there are a couple of different dining package options, the Disney Dining Plan is the most popular! This dining plan has a lot of great features that work well for everyone.
The Disney Dining Plan includes one Quick service meal, one Table service meal, and 2 snacks per person per night of stay. On the day that you arrive at Walt Disney World, your dining plan starts and all of the dining credits for your entire stay are now in your account. This allows you the freedom to use them any way you’d like. If you’d like to use 2 quick service credits in one day, that’s totally fine!
The quick-service credits can be used at any grab and go type of dining location. This would include meals at food courts and counter service dining options within the resorts, the parks, and Disney Springs. Not only does it include the food, but it also includes your beverage!
The table service credits are a great way to enjoy some awesome dining experiences. Whether it’s a character or princess meal, a dinner show or a fine dining experience at a world-class restaurant, you’re able to use your table service credits. These credits are a great way to meet and greet your favorite Disney characters or princesses while enjoying a meal instead of waiting in line for a quick photo opportunity in the parks. And just in case you’re wondering, dessert is always included in lunch and dinner. Guests under 21 years of age can choose one non-alcoholic beverage (including specialty beverages where offered). Guests 21 and older can choose either one non-alcoholic beverage (including specialty beverages where offered) or one single-serving mixed cocktail, beer, or wine (where offered) within their meal entitlement as well.
Snack credits can be used at Quick-Service locations, ice cream parlors, bakeries, and most outdoor carts. They include things like a bag of snacks, Mickey-shaped Pretzels, a Dole Whip, treats from the bakery, or Leigh’s favorite, a popcorn scoop! They are definitely fun to use!
Everyone that’s 3 years and over will also receive a refillable drink mug. This mug is available at any food court within the resorts. Why is this so special you ask? It allows you to have an unlimited amount of refills of your favorite beverages, such as any fountain soda, tea, or coffee during the length of your stay. You can read more about the Rapid Refill Mugs here.
Your Me and The Mouse Travel Specialist will help make sure that your table service dining choices are within your dining plan and will be sure to let you know if you have more reservations than credits. Disney also helps you keep track while you’re at Walt Disney World. On the bottom of every dining receipt, it will show you how many remaining dining credits you have. You can also check your Disney World Park App or ask a cast member at the concierge desk or at guest relations to print off your remaining balance as well. Dining credits are available through midnight of the day you check out of your Walt Disney World resort. If you have a snack credit or two remaining before you leave, visit the bakery, your resort Quick service location or Gift Shop to use up any remaining snack credits and take a few treats home with you.
Not only is the Disney Dining Plan the way to go for your Walt Disney World vacation, but it’s a great way to experience and create some great memories and relax with some of the best food available! Bon appétit!
