Disney is ready to unveil the Disney Skyliner, a new transportation system for Walt Disney World beginning on September 29, 2019, for guests staying at:

  • Disney’s Art of Animation Resort
  • Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort
  • Disney Pop Century Resort
  • Disney Riviera Resort (projected to open December 2019)

Guests will travel in aerial gondolas to Hollywood Studios and the International Gateway in Epcot. The Disney Skyliner station at International Gateway in Epcot is just a short stroll away from Disney’s Boardwalk Inn, Disney’s Yacht Club, and Disney’s Beach Club opening up an additional quick and easy method of transportation to these popular resorts.

The new transportation system will utilize nearly 300 gondolas in eight vibrant colors. Each gondola cabin is expected to accommodate up to 10 guests and will incorporate graphics based on Disney films, attractions, and characters - giving the illusion that your favorite Disney friends are experiencing the ride along with you. The gondolas will be able to accommodate guests traveling in wheelchairs or assistive devices. The system will continuously stay in motion to expedite guests to their destination within minutes. The gondola interior will not be air conditioned, but will have an air ventilating system expected to keep you comfortable while you breeze across breathtaking landscapes with beautiful views between your destinations.

If you still prefer one of the more traditional methods of transportation such as buses, monorails, or water taxis, Disney will continue to offer all of these options.

Sit back, relax, and be prepared for some pixie dust to be sprinkled on your next Walt Disney World vacation as the new Disney Skyliner whisks you away on an adventure and magically reduces your travel time around the world.
