As a long-time cruiser with Disney Cruise Line, I have always enjoyed the stop at Disney’s Castaway Cay.  On my recent, first trip on Royal Caribbean, this is where they had to reach the bar that Disney has set so high in the category of private islands.  I am happy to report that Perfect Day Coco Cay was everything and more than what I expected.  There is so much to do on this island and not enough time so with that in mind, here are my top 5 “must-do” activities:

1. Zip Lining – By far, this was my favorite activity and the best way to get some spectacular views of the island.  There were 3 segments, all very mild and low-key.  Each segment lasted about 20 seconds and whisked you over the top of several different areas of Coco Cay.  Even those who are not huge thrill-seekers will enjoy this!

2.Thrill Water Park – Home to the tallest waterslide in North America, Daredevil’s Peak, Thrill Water Park comes in second behind zip lining as a must-do at Coco Cay.  With several body slides, mat slides, family raft slide, and even a wave pool, Thrill Water Park is an attraction you can enjoy all day.

3. Oasis Lagoon – If your idea of “Perfect Day” means relaxing, look no further than Oasis Lagoon.  Here you will find the Caribbean’s largest freshwater pool and a great way to kick back which is fun for the entire family.

4. The Snack Shack – When I go on a cruise, my whole schedule revolves around when and what I am going to eat.  Coco Cay has several dining options including Skipper’s Grill Buffet and more, but the food at the Snack Shack locations in Thrill Water Park and near South Beach was absolutely outstanding.  From chicken sandwiches to burgers, mozzarella sticks and even funnel cakes, the food quality was great and even included with the price of your cruise.  I certainly ate as much as I wanted and more without spending any extra money.

5. South Beach – You can’t go to an island without going to a beach and without a doubt, this was my favorite beach on the island.  There was enough activity to keep you entertained, but not so much that you couldn’t enjoy those beautiful blue Caribbean waters.  This beach was absolutely stunning and had enough chairs to accommodate everyone.

There are currently 14 Royal Caribbean ships stopping at Perfect Day Coco Cay and some even make two stops at this island.  For more information on Royal Caribbean Cruise Line or to book a cruise visiting this island, please contact your Me and The Mouse Travel Specialist.
