Themed Drinks at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter {Review}

Traveling between Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade takes you on a journey through The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. You can see, feel, and even taste, yes taste what it’s like to live a day in the life of Harry Potter. Many great food and snack options are available, but the specialty drinks are something that’s not to be missed. It gets HOT in the Florida sun so cooling down with a refreshing drink will make your time much more enjoyable.

I’m sure all the loyal Harry Potter fans are aware you can get Butterbeer, the staple drink in the Wizarding World. It can be found in several locations in both Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade. I love Butterbeer in all it’s forms, cold, hot, frozen, and even ice cream! The creamy butterscotch flavor can’t be beat and contrary to its name it is completely family-friendly.

During my last trip to Diagon Alley, I tasted several of the eclectic selections of Wizard themed drinks available at The Hopping Pot. They offer a few citrus flavored drinks, Otter’s Fizzy Orange Juice, which has a cinnamon sugar rim and was undoubtedly my favorite, and Tongue-Tying Lemon Squash, a simple yet refreshing lemonade which was equally delicious.  All the drinks I tried have a very unique flavor and while most didn’t have the same palate-pleasing impact as the citrus drinks, they did help to make me feel even more immersed in the Potter world. Not all the unique flavors are for everyone, for example, the cinnamon, mint, and blueberry flavor of The Fishy Green Ale actually made me gag! Clearly, it wasn’t a drink for me. Pumpkin Juice is another very popular choice at The Hopping Pot. It is a sweet apple-like juice combined with a hint of pumpkin spice. It is definitely something you would taste in the autumn months.

These themed drinks are very eclectic and since everyone’s taste buds are different, I recommend asking the team members for a description or maybe even asking for a small sample of the drink of your choice before you buy. My adventure to taste test the many drinks available was a fun way to enjoy my day at Universal Orlando and cool off during the heat of the day. Be sure to grab a couple of these delicious drinks on your next trip to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter!
