If you LOVE Magic Kingdom and plan to spend a lot of your time there, Disney's Contemporary Resort may be the perfect place to call "home" on your next Disney vacation.  Disney’s Contemporary Resort is one of the original Disney resorts that opened in 1971 along with Magic Kingdom and is located on the Resort Monorail system.  The monorail runs directly through this resort and makes a stop inside to load and unload passengers. In fact, it is so close to Magic Kingdom you can actually walk to the park.  This allows you to spend more of your vacation time at Magic Kingdom versus waiting for transportation to take you there.  It is also an excellent choice if you want a time-saving option to bring tired children back to take a nap or a swim in the middle of a hot Orlando afternoon.

The Contemporary Resort has two sections of rooms, The Tower and South Garden Wing.  The Tower rooms are located in the main building which means they are more conveniently located to the monorail, bus stop, restaurants, shops, and front desk.  These rooms also have fabulous views of both Bay Lake and Magic Kingdom Park.  The South Garden rooms are closer to the swimming pools and marina.  These rooms are good choice for those on a budget, who want to enjoy this great location and easy access to Magic  Kingdom..

The guest rooms have a contemporary décor and have a very chic ambiance.  Standard rooms accommodate up to five Guests, plus one child under age 3 in a pack-and-play.  All rooms have two queen-size beds, or one king-size bed and a day bed, and a large bathroom. Guests choosing Club Level accommodations at the Atrium Club and Tower Club receive personalized concierge service and access to the Club Lounge serving continental breakfast, midday snacks and evening wine, hors d’oeuvres, cordials and desserts.

You will find two pools at this location.  Other amenities you may enjoy are a health club, a jogging path for just under a mile jaunt, tennis courts, fishing, marina watercraft rental, beach volleyball, and a video arcade.

If your family is looking for fun evening recreational activities that do not require a theme park ticket, you may want to spend time together in the great outdoors enjoying complementary campfire activities and then stay for Disney Movies Under the Stars.  Guests can also view the Magic Kingdom fireworks from the observation deck at the Contemporary Resort.  All guests are welcome and these activities are complimentary.

If you love to eat, like my family does, this is another reason to choose the Contemporary Resort as your home during your Disney vacation.   The Contempo Cafe is a good choice for a quick meal serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner.  You will also find an assortment of snacks and drinks.  This is a great place to refill your resort mug.   The Contemporary is the home of one of the most popular dining locations on Disney property, Chef Mickey.  Chef Mickey is an energetic all-you-can-eat buffet dining location where your family can meet and mingle with Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Donald Duck, and Goofy. You don’t have to be a kid to enjoy this dining location, just “young at heart”.  Read more about this restaurant in our blog.  If you are looking for a more adult experience, try the California Grill which is a Signature restaurant at this resort offering California-style cuisine and breathtaking views of Magic Kingdom and the spectacular nightly fireworks.

The Contemporary Resort offers easy access to Magic Kingdom, quick transportation to the other Monorail resorts, and fantastic amenities to enjoy during  “magical” visit.  Contact your Me and The Mouse Travel Specialist for more information about this Deluxe Resort or any Disney resort properties.
