For quite some time, an adult drink of choice in the World Showcase of Epcot was the “Fiesta Margarita” in Mexico.  A lovely combination of Lime, Strawberry, and Mango frozen margaritas, all in one glass - perfect for sipping on that hot summer day as you stroll from country to country.

It is a potent concoction, and one that was a fan favorite.

But in May 2016, the frozen margarita stand was removed!  A TRAGEDY!

In recent months, however, constructions walls have been erected near the step pyramid in Mexico, with hints of a new margarita stand.  Well, on January 2, 2017, Disney Parks Blog CONFIRMED the return of a margarita stand in early 2017, and we couldn’t be more excited! The new stand is called, Choza Tequila!

To those 21 and up, you have probably heard about “drinking around the world” at Epcot.  It can be done in any method, at any time of year, but is typically something adults do in the evenings and with a group of friends.  The frozen margarita was either the first stop in that trek, or the last to top off your endeavors.

Now that the frozen (and fiesta) margarita will make a comeback, and as someone who has partaken in this self-started event, I prefer beginning my evening in Mexico…for some pretty good reasons:

  1. Starting in Canada, you will get bogged down in ales and lagers
  2. Onto the UK after, the ‘yard of beer’ will entice anyone...and will put you out of the game quicker than you’d like.
  3. Then you’d begin to hit wines in France.  Already wearing your stamina down…

Starting in Mexico, you’ll begin your journey at the new margarita stand, and pace yourself.  You can keep cool with your frozen margarita, sample specialty drinks from the neighboring countries of China and Norway, before hitting the “bier” of Germany and beyond.

We are so glad to see this fan favorite back.  And remember, all is fun in moderation. Be sure to know your own personal limits before "drinking around the world".  Enjoy!
