Packing for a vacation is an important part of the planning process, but rarely do people think about what they should NOT bring onboard a Disney cruise. This is a broad overview of some of the items you should leave at home in order to provide a safe environment for all guests. You’ve selected your perfect Disney Cruise Line itinerary. With all the exciting destinations offered, you have completed the hardest step! Next, let’s help you determine what kind of stateroom will best fit both your family’s needs as well as your budget. There are four main categories of staterooms on a Disney ship: Inside, Oceanview, Verandah, and Concierge. An inside stateroom (no windows to the outside) is the least expensive category. If you really want to cruise but see your room as only a place to sleep, or if the price difference between an inside stateroom and a verandah is make or break for you going on the cruise, an inside stateroom might be the answer for you! is a larger space and offers fresh light and a beautiful view. Depending on the ship and stateroom, you may have 1 or 2 non-opening portholes to look out of. If you would […]

If you love Christmas and you love Disney, sailing away on a Very Merrytime Cruise with Disney Cruise Line should be added to your Christmas list. I was fortunate to experience my first Very Merrytime Cruise on the Disney Dream with my Me and The Mouse team in early November this year. I love the holidays and was so excited to get a jump start on Christmas music, decorations, and holiday traditions. Disney’s expertise in creating a “Magical Christmas” sailing is something I was thrilled to have the opportunity to experience. I especially enjoyed the magic of snow in the tropics. Holiday activities and offerings are subject to change by ship and itinerary, but I am excited to share a sampling below: Deck the Deck Tropical Holiday Party-Where your Disney pals know how to get the holiday party started with dancing and games such as candy cane limbo. Mickey’s Tree […]

Doing laundry on a Disney Cruise is a great way to help if you are a light packer and/or you do not want to return home with dirty clothes. Disney makes it easy and convenient. Each of the Disney Cruise Line ships have 24-hour self-service laundry rooms. Cost $3.00 Washer $3.00 Dryer $1.00 Laundry Detergent *Please note that prices are subject to change. Paying is easy and you don’t need to lug quarters around. You simply use your Key to The World Card to purchase credits that can be used for each wash/dry cycle. The amount will be charged to your stateroom account. You will also will be given the option to share your credits with others in your stateroom at the time of purchase. I prefer to pack a few detergent pods before leaving home. Since clothes irons and steamers are not permitted in any stateroom, the laundry rooms […]

The word chill is an adjective meaning very relaxed or easygoing. Disney Cruise Line has the goal of giving teens aged 13 to 17 a very relaxed experience by offering a menu of spa treatments on all four of their ships at the teen exclusive Chill Spa. If your teenager is interested in visiting Chill Spa, you must wait until you board the ship before you can book a treatment as this is not an option to book online. Head to the Senses Spa and request your appointment type and treatment as soon as you can – appointments will go fast, especially for your days at sea. Treatments include facials, massages, hair care, and beauty and wellness treatments such as wraps, manicures, and pedicures. Is your teen interested in attending a boot camp? Every summer Disney Cruise Line sails one of its ships to Europe for one of the most special sets of itineraries available. Disney Cruise Line separates their European itineraries into Northern Europe and Mediterranean itineraries. My family was able to experience the unique 7-night repositioning cruise that connected these guest experiences. We started in Dover, England and ended in Barcelona, Spain and it was a vacation we will never forget and recommend to all interested in visiting Europe with their family. Visiting Europe on a Disney cruise allows families to visit multiple countries and cultures in a short time while keeping a home base on the ship. The tours offered by Disney’s port adventures team allow for the interests of all ages with varying tour lengths to accommodate your needs. On our particular cruise, we docked in Le Havre, France; Lisbon, Portugal; and Cadiz, Spain with 3 full days at […]

Rotational dining is a unique dining experience on Disney Cruise Lines, which allows all guests the opportunity to enjoy dinner in each of the restaurants onboard. Guests receive their specific rotation when they check-in at the port. Each evening, all guests will rotate to an assigned restaurant along with their wait-staff and tablemates to a new restaurant. Depending on the length of the cruise, some/all restaurants will be experienced at least once on each cruise. However, if a guest is scheduled for more than one night in the same restaurant, the menu will change, so every night truly is a unique experience. The restaurants onboard each ship: Disney Magic Animator’s Palate Lumiere’s Carioca’s Disney Wonder Animator’s Palate Triton’s Tiana’s Place Disney Dream Animator’s Palate Royal Palace Enchanted Garden Disney Fantasy Animator’s Palate Royal Court Enchanted Garden If you decide you do not want to visit one of the restaurants on […]

Parking in Port Canaveral/Cocoa Beach for your Disney Cruise is easy when you know your options. Here is a breakdown of possibilities for those that choose to drive to Port Canaveral. Port Canaveral Parking Garage This is the most convenient option, but not necessarily the most economical. The parking garage at Port Canaveral is $ 17/day. Note, your arrival and departure day each counts as a day when determining your rate. Parking at the port is convenient and quick. The driver can drop passengers off at the entrance and porters will assist them with their bags prior to entering the parking garage. When disembarking, one member of your party can get the car and pull around to the same drop-off location and load the car with your bags. Off-site parking There are quite a few off-site parking options that provide shuttle service to and from the port. The lots are […]

One of the most common questions we receive from cruise clients is the best location when selecting a stateroom. If you are sensitive to motion, having a stateroom center ship and on a lower deck may provide less movement of the ship. Selecting a stateroom with a verandah or an oceanview will also help if you begin to feel queazy so you have the ability to look at the horizon. The verandah stateroom is also an added benefit for the ability to step outside for fresh air. Many people feel being high up on a ship is more desirable. If this is your preference, it’s important to know that staterooms on the deck right under the pool deck tend to have noise early in the morning as they move the deck chairs around the pool getting ready for the day. Therefore, if you are a light sleeper, this location may […]

The Sail Away Deck Party is not to be missed! This event marks the beginning of your adventure on your cruise. Go to the pool deck, or the deck above that looks down onto the pool deck and enjoy the party. The Sail Away Deck Party is full of excitement has lots of music and dancing, and you get a chance to see many of your favorite Disney characters decked out in their cruising attire. Be on the lookout for Captain Mickey Mouse and his friends Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, and Pluto, who want you to join in on the fun!! Pixar's animation process. From the dining room chairs that are patterned after Mickey Mouse’s pants to the paintbrush butter knives, you won't want to skip your dinner at this magical restaurant. As you dine, a complete animated “cel” is drawn, starting from sketches of the main characters, adding background elements to the finished art. […]
