Are you more into country music? The banjo or harmonica might be calling your name. There isn’t anywhere you can turn outside without being reminded of the powerful influence music has on all our lives.Resort Spotlight: All-Star Music

The suite also adds a kitchenette including microwave and coffee maker and an additional bathroom to speed up getting ready in the morning. The rooms are quite comfortable and very functional. For families that do not spend much time in the room itself, you will find it a great place to lay your head at night.

Resort Spotlight: All-Star MusicSummer days require somewhere to cool off and the All-Star Music pools do not disappoint. The guitar-themed heated pool found in the Calypso section includes the Three Caballeros – Donald Duck, José Carioca and Panchito spraying water at everyone swimming. Closer to the back of the resort you can swim while tickling the ivories in the black and white grand piano themed pool.

Resort Spotlight: All-Star MusicBus transportation to Disney’s theme parks from All-Star Music is extremely convenient. Although buses are sometimes shared between all three All-Star resorts, during busy times of the day, Disney runs a dedicated bus service to each of them. While waiting for the buses, you may even be entertained by a resort DJ hosting dance parties, singing custom lyrics to your family, or asking you to join in on songs from the past and present.

The All-Star Music resort brings memories for families filled with background music that speaks to the hearts of all. If this resort sounds like the perfect pitch to your ears, contact a Me and The Mouse agent to book All-Star Music for your next Walt Disney World Vacation!

{& Why These Cast Members Will Be
Some of Your Favorite Faces!}

Baby Care StationI have done what so many other moms like me have done and what so many others have thought me crazy for.  I have taken my very young children to enjoy the Disney parks. My kids were both under 1 year when we started taking them to the Disney parks regularly. I understand how we want to share our love of Disney and all the magic that that entails with our children, and I also understand how tiring that can be. Disney has created a place even for the smallest guests (and for those caring for them). It is called (*the sounds of angels descending* and cue the spotlight) the Baby Care Station.

With one Baby Care Station located centrally in each of the Disney theme parks (both at Walt Disney World and at the Disneyland Resort), you can find a quiet retreat to nurse or feed your baby, change diapers or visit the toilets, or just grab a quiet corner to escape the bustle and weather outside. They are staffed with the sweetest cast members who are there to help you take care of your little one.

The main room has tables and chairs, as well as high chairs. Forgot something? They also have a small area where you can purchase some of the essentials, such as diapers and baby food.Baby Care Station

When my kids were little, this was one (of many!) of the bright spots to our visit. They loved the pint-sized potties made just for them, and I loved knowing the wonderful cast members were always there for me to offer a smile (or help avoid a diaper emergency!).

Sure, it might sound silly, but when you spend a full day playing in the parks with your young ones, anything that can help keep everyone comfortable and happy is a blessing.

If you are traveling with Littles on your next visit to the parks, grab your map and locate the Baby Care Station for later. You’ll be glad you did!

Rider Switch PassEver wonder if you’ll miss out on riding an attraction at Disney World because you’re traveling with someone either not tall enough or who does not want to ride?
No worries! Disney offers a Rider Switch pass for guests in this situation.

What is Rider Switch?

Rider Switch (aka child swap/rider swap) allows an adult who has waited off the attraction with a child or guest unable to ride, the ability to enjoy the ride after the remainder of his/her party returns from the line.

Reasons for not riding

  • Height restrictions
  • Guests with disabilities
  • Child chooses not to ride Rider Switch Pass

How does it work?

  1. The entire party goes to the front of the line of the attraction they wish to ride (either the stand-by line or FastPass line, if they have one).
  2. Let the Cast Member at the front of the line know you need a Rider Switch for the adult waiting with the non-rider(s).Rider Switch Pass
  3. Depending on the ride, the process for obtaining the Rider Switch pass may vary. At some attractions, the pass may be given to the group waiting off the attraction immediately OR the riders may be given a green lanyard to carry as they enter the line.
  4. The non-riders find a place to rest outside the attraction, enjoy other areas of the park, shop, or enjoy another attraction as they wait.
  5. If given a lanyard, the riders will exchange it with the next cast member in line. That cast member will provide them with a paper pass for the other adult to use later.
  6. Once the riders meet back with the non-riders, the waiting adult can now go to the attraction’s FastPass line with the Rider Swap ticket. They can take up to 3 guests with them.

Rider Switch expiration

There is generally an expiration date on Rider Switch passes.  Some are SAME DAY passes (must be used by the close of the park that day) and some may be good for a few days/weeks (due to expiring at the end of the month).

Rider Switch Pass

This means non-riders do NOT need to use the pass immediately after the initial riders have ridden.  They can return before the expiration date to ride.

**If you choose to use the pass on a different day, park admission is required.

Spring Break at Disney WorldSpring is a wonderful time of year to visit Walt Disney World. The weather is just about perfect- not too hot, not too cool. And who can forget all the flowers in bloom at the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival. But the one thing that may keep you away is Spring breakers! Don’t let that keep you from experiencing all the beauty of Walt Disney World in the spring. We have some helpful tips to help avoid lines and make you vacation magical.

  1. Be sure to book your hotel and dining early. By booking early, you are sure to get the resort you would like in the room category you are hoping for. If you are afraid you may miss out on a better price, don’t worry! The Me and The Mouse Travel agents will monitor your reservation for any promotions available during you stay and get that price applied if there is availability. Remember with Disney dining, reservations can be made up to 180 days in advance. Popular restaurants such as Cinderella’s Royal Table and Chef Mickey fill up early so booking at the 180 day mark will give you the best chance of getting that reservation.Spring Break at Disney World
  2. Take advantage of the FastPass system. FastPasses can be made 60 days ahead of time if you are staying on Walt Disney World property. This will save time waiting in line at some of the more popular attractions.
  3. Utilize the Magic Hours if you are staying on Walt Disney World property. Magic Hours are when one of the four theme parks either opens an hour early or stays open two hours later.
  4. Arrive early! By arriving at least 30 minutes before that park opens, you will be able to enjoy more attractions with shorter lines. Take a mid-day break and then head back out to the parks for the evening.
  5. If there is a second Fantasmic! Show or second parade, plan on attending that one. It is usually less crowded than the first one.
  6. Go to quick service restaurants at off times. For example, eat lunch around 11:00am or dinner around 4:00pm or after 8:00pm. The lines will be shorter and you will have an easier time finding a table.
  7. When leaving the theme parks at night, don’t rush to the buses with everyone else in the park. Take that time to get a snack and browse the shops. Spring Break at Disney World

So just because it’s Spring Break doesn’t mean you should avoid Disney World. It will just take some extra planning to make for a magical vacation. If the thought of all the planning scares you, contact a Me and The Mouse Travel agent and we will be happy to take the stress off you! If you’ve already begun planning, Me and The Mouse is able to have your reservations transferred to the company! We will be able to keep your previous choices, and help you decide your future decisions.

Sweet, Savory and Scrumptious

Walt Disney World is full of amazing food. From full to quick service the options are endless. Today, I want to spend a little time on my favorite treats. Before I go any further, I first need to define what a treat is to me. When I’m on vacation anything I eat outside a meal is a treat and I like my treats! So anything from ice cream to a pretzel to a bratwurst is in my opinion, a treat! This blog post is for all of you food lovers out there, enjoy! Best Disney World Treats

Let’s start with the sweet treats! What may be the most famous refreshing dessert at Disney World is the Dole Whip. It can be found at the Polynesian Resort and in Adventureland at the Magic Kingdom. The Dole Whip is a cool creamy pineapple ice cream type dessert. I lean toward the float in which the Dole Whip is surrounded by pineapple juice! {Can I just say, #heavenly!} Staying in the Magic Kingdom, let’s next travel to Gaston’s Tavern. Here you will find a LeFou’s Brew which is an amazing slushy type drink that I can only describe as fruity and butterscotchy! You must get a warm cinnamon roll to go with your LeFou’s Brew.  This warm and delectable treat is anything but small and is certainly full of flavor!

Next it’s the savory treats! At Germany in Epcot, you will find a little stop next to the buffet entrance where you can pick up a German bratwurst covered in sauerkraut and paired with paprika chips. To most this is a meal but to me it’s often just a snack! You can top it with mustard and sit in one of the tables next to the shops. You will feel like you are in Germany! My next savory treat can be found at Disney Springs. It’s poutine! I didn’t really know what that was until I tried it at Disney. It’s big combination of french fries, cheese curds and gravy! It’s a yummy carb filled treat that again is more of a meal, but again I call it a snack!

Best Disney World TreatsFinally, it’s the scrumptious treats! What is a scrumptious treat you ask? Well, it’s the treats that I couldn’t fit into the other categories. I start with one of my all time favorite beers. For this, we again travel to Germany. At the front, you can find an amazing pretzel cart! There will find the Schöfferhofer Pink Grapefruit Hefeweizen. A refreshing light beer with a grapefruit twist! My other scrumptious treats are beer at Italy, beer at the United Kingdom, beer at Canada and well I think you get the point! Epcot is a beer lovers dream!

So that is my favorite Disney World treats! Well actually, it was only a few as it would take about 10 blogs to list all my favorite treats! If you are looking for some different options or in need of more suggestions, contact a Me and The Mouse agent today!

Have you ever been at Magic Kingdom and wondered why all the special seating was closed by Cinderella’s castle?  Or have seen a group of people standing in a roped off area at Epcot eating some tantalizing desserts?  Those are just two of the special firework dessert parties that are available to enjoy!

Disney offers the chance to watch their famous fireworks from some of the best locations within or around the parks.  You have the opportunity to make special reservations on select days for these dessert parties 180 days before your vacation begins.  So what makes them so special?  Well, let’s take a look at each one a little bit closer.

At Magic Kingdom, there are actually two different parties to choose from.  Fireworks Dessert Party at Tomorrowland Terrace and Ferrytale Wishes: A Fireworks Dessert Cruise.  While you’ll be viewing the same firework show over Cinderella’s Castle, where you will be viewing them from will be quite different.  At the Tomorrowland Terrace’s party, you’ll have a reserved table and viewing area to share with other guests. This is just before you enter Tomorrowland.  You’ll be seated at your table and will be able to feast on all of the delicious mini desserts, ice cream and yummy non-alcoholic beverages.  Even though everyone has an assigned table, you can always stand up and get closer to the magic within the viewing area.  There’s plenty of room to move around!  And there’s a special guest that flies overhead to start the fireworks so have your camera ready!

Fireworks Dessert PartyThe other party at Magic Kingdom is Ferrytale Wishes. {Read an entire blog post about this party, HERE!}  This is an exclusive dessert party and magical cruise aboard the iconic General Joe Potter ferryboat.  You’ll be wishing upon a night full of stars, fireworks and magic as you sail the Seven Seas Lagoon in Style.  Here you’ll enjoy some decadent sweets, specialty beverages (with and without alcohol-in a special glow glass!) and one-of-a-kind views of Disney’s famous fireworks above Magic Kingdom.

Jumping over to Epcot, you can reserve your spot at IllumiNations Sparkling Dessert Party.  If fireworks with an international flair is something more your style, then this surely won’t disappoint! Located close to Mexico in World Showcase, you’ll enter your special viewing area that will have scattered tall top tables (without seating) along with your choice of amazing desserts from around World Showcase.  There will even be a refreshing assortment of beverages, including sparkling wines.

Fireworks Dessert Party

Lastly, for an out of this world firework dessert party with a Star Wars theme, check out Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular Dessert Party! This is located in Disney’s Hollywood! The party is directly located in front of Star Wars Launch Bay in Animation Courtyard. You’ll be able to stand and feast on some Star Wars themed treats and specialty drinks, including alcoholic beverage options.  Nibble on Darth Vader cupcakes as you’re escorted to a special VIP area to watch the enthralling firework display.

You won’t be disappointed, regardless of which one you pick.  It’s a great opportunity to reserve your spot for some of the best locations to view the fireworks and enjoy some delectable treats and drinks.  Adding these to your vacation is like adding an extra bit of pixie dust!

To add a firework dessert party to your Disney vacation, contact a Me and The Mouse agent today!

You’ve been working with your Me and the Mouse travel specialist to plan your families magical Disney vacation and it’s all set. You have your resort, tickets, dining – everything to make this a wonderful vacation for your family!  Now what?!?!  Looking at your Disney countdown calendar, you have months before your trip!  By starting some of these tips NOW, you can ensure your Disney vacation will be even more enjoyable!

  1. Start walking now!  One thing you can count on for your Disney trip is that you will be walking A LOT!  On my last 6 day trip, we logged 55 miles worth of steps onto our Fitbits!  I started doing my “Disney training” with my treadmill months before we left. Although, I was tired by the end of the days at Disney, I was able to keep up and really enjoy the long days!
  2. Buy good comfortable shoes well before your vacation so that you have the time to break them in. Disney is not the place you want to break in new shoes and realize they give you blisters {yikes!}!
  3. If you plan on taking a backpack into the parks, try walking around with it on and loaded up so that you can ensure that it will be comfortable for your days at Disney.
  4. Visit our Me and The Mouse Pinterest Page, here!. We have several great ideas for how to countdown to your trip and fun outfit ideas! Prepping for Disney
  5. Download the My Disney Experience app on your phone and use it before you go so you know where to find the information you will be looking for in the parks. The My Disney Experience app has all of your reservation information, park maps, Fastpass picks and times, your dining reservations. It also has all park info like hours, parade times, character times, and wait times.  It is an amazing resource to use while you are in the parks.
  6. Purchase a portable power bank to charge your phone while you are in the theme parks. These are life savers. Typically, people use their phone often in the parks taking pictures, using the My Disney Experience app, and posting photo’s for all their friends to see what a great time they are having and it eats away at the phones battery. You will also want your phone charged to be able to contact other members in your group in case you split up during the day.
  7. Do some research on food you would like to try while you are at Disney! Disney has some fantastic food and snack options {Dole whip, zebra cakes, school bread} that are must try’s while you are there!  If you need any help coming up with ideas, make sure to ask your Me and the Mouse agent they are sure to have plenty of ideas for you!!!
  8. If your family is planning on partaking in pin trading, you can purchase pins on eBay to fill your lanyards for trading in the parks. My kids really enjoy interacting with the cast members while trading their pins!
  9. Your travel specialist is a great resource of information! We have a great team and are ready to answer any questions that will help your family have an enjoyable and memorable Disney vacation. Feel free to contact a Me and The Mouse agent today!
