Yes, you can book your own travel online.  You can do everything yourself from  spending countless hours of research to reading hundreds of blogs until you are dizzy, but working with a destination specialist is invaluable.  Why?  Here are just a few reasons that will make your trip less stressful and more magical…

When it comes to Disney World, more research is required than any other Disney Destination.  A Disney Specialist can save you so much time on the details from the best restaurants to eat at to which parks will be the least crowded, helping you avoid time-wasted searches in the parks and helping you simply enjoy your vacation.

 Free to you

It doesn’t cost you any extra to book through an agent vs. booking straight through Disney.  In fact, most Disney Specialists will give you so many fun “goodies” for your family that Disney won’t.

 Saves you money

Not only is it free to work with an agent, it can actually save you money because agents are aware of all new discount codes and will apply them to your reservation as they become available.  When you make your own reservations, you have to be on the lookout for any sales.

 Dining reservations booked for you

Many of those very hard to get dining reservations require being online or on the phone at the crack of dawn 180 days in advance of your trip. Disney travel agents will make these reservations for you, allowing you to relax and sleep in.

 Other reservations too

Aside from dining reservations, agents will also make your reservations for special tours, as well as things like Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique and Magical Express.

Are you looking for something to do on your downtime when visiting Walt Disney World? Be sure to check out the Downtown Disney district – a shopping, dining and entertainment area that is free to visit and should not to be missed on your next vacation.

I visit Downtown Disney usually more than once on my trip. The first time I’m there to scout out the shops for souvenirs that I may purchase later in my visit. My second visit is usually more purposeful with the activities, shops, and restaurants I’m headed to with my family planned out. You can often find me in Downtown Disney in the evening after I have visited my Animal Kingdom park day, on my departure day, or late at night after a day at the parks. If you have children that require a reasonable bedtime, a benefit to traveling with another adult is that you can head to Downtown Disney after they are in bed to check things out on your own as everything is open late.

Downtown Disney has an abundance of stores that are on my must do list that first visit when I’m previewing for souvenirs. For women, be sure to stop by Tren-D for adorable fashions and accessories include specially designed Dooney and Burke handbags. Once Upon a Toy is child’s paradise with the famous Mr. Potato Head Disney pieces and a Star Wars Droid factory. For your home, the artwork at Art of Disney is brilliant. If you’re not sure what you are looking for, be sure to stop by World of Disney for the world’s largest Disney store that includes its very own Bippidi Boppidi Boutique.

Downtown Disney has so many great restaurants to choose from and now your selections also include scrumptious food truck options. Most of the restaurants and food trucks accept the Disney Dining Plan so be sure to check out both the table service and quick service meals that are offered. Some of my favorites include Crossroads at House of Blues, Wolfgang Puck Grand Café and T-REX.

There are a plethora of entertainment options in Downtown Disney. Soar above the sky in the Characters of Flight balloon, get a strike at the Splitsville Luxury Lanes, or enjoy 5 floors of interactive rides and games at DisneyQuest. For those looking to be enthralled, be sure to catch Cirque du Soleil’s La Nouba for an evening you will never forget. Wanting some laid back entertainment? You can often find free performances throughout the day at the Waterside Stage or simply allow your kids free time to build their very own Lego creations while you sit back and watch the magic of their childhood right before your eyes.

So the next time you are at Walt Disney World, be sure to plan a visit to Downtown Disney. With shops, dining, and entertainment you will find magic all around!
